Djinn had promised he would teach the boy. Granted, said promise had been made some time ago. Time had different meaning to a demon, however; what might be years to a mortal, was negligible to one so long-lived.

Besides, he'd been tending to other matters.

Standing in the middle of a large open stretch of ground, Djinn summoned Arsen to him, much like he often summoned the construct. It was time. Djinn would begin to teach his son how to be a demon.

Arsen sat back and began to relax for once in the common room. It was empty today so he felt it was safe to close his eyes against the world. He didn't trust anyone enough to do that whilst people were around. Well maybe one person.

His eyes opened suddenly as he fell to the ground. "What the..." He said darting to his feet to take in his surroundings and finally seeing his father. "Oh..." was all he managed before he began to dust himself down.

Djinn looked distinctly amused. "Sitting, were you?" he inquired. "You're far more entertaining to summon than others.

"I promised I would teach you. So, here we are."

"Yes, the only time i chose to sit and i get... summon?" He said not entirely sure what had just happened here.

He smiled at finally being able to learn something demonic. He was sick of not knowing what he can do. He knew he had power, he just didn't know how to use it properly. "Okay, so what we doing today then?" He asked to break the silence.

"It's a handy capability to have," Djinn shrugged, "being able to summon one's own."

He inclined his head, crimson eyes studying the boy intently. "I suppose the basics should be first. Show me what you can do with fire."

He smiled, it would be good to be able to summon people so easily. He wouldn't even need to find them when he wanted them. He could just drag them to him whether they liked it or not. "Will i be able to do that?" He asked.

He nodded and took a deep breath before letting his hands set alight. At first it was what muggles would call fire, then it became fiendfyre and finally hells fire. The fire his father had taught him a long time ago.

The demon considered the query for a moment. "Perhaps," he replied. "It is likelier than not."

Djinn watched Arsen's hand set alight. The hand was but a small portion of the body, however. Learning to take and control the heat of hellfire in one small area was simple.

It was not, however, sufficient.

"Adequate start," he stated in a bored tone. "Though, I was hoping for something more along the lines of this."

Djinn abruptly burst into hell-flames, their heat and brightness completely concealing him. That is, until they shot forward, a massive ball of sun-hot fire - straight for Arsen.

"Awesome!" He smiled as the thought of that power crossed his mind. His powers were endless and he'd never have known about that without his father here to tell him. Now he couldn't help but think of all the other things he could do.

He narrowed his eyes as his father burst into flames. He could do that. Maybe not as fast or with hell fire but he could do that. He was just about to say something when the ball of light came straight for him. Without a seconds thought he turned his back on it and immediately fell to his knees under its power. The pain of it, sunk deep into his skin. Just as it had with his hands then he'd first touched it. He still needed to get used to it.

The ball of flames swept over the boy with a roar, hurtling forward for a couple hundred feet before abruptly burning out.

"Hellfire," Djinn stated, walking up to the boy and pulling him up by the arm, the action neither gentle nor rough. "It is part of who you are. We will work on that, today. Once I am satisfied you have mastered that, then we will work on your other abilities."

Arsen hiss as he was pulled up to his feet. His whole body was burning from the hell fire, thanks to his father not letting him get used to it first. He nodded and gritted his teeth. He knew what it was he wasn't stupid. "Well if you give me five minutes ill be able to get used to it!" He spat standing up straight and feeling his sour back with a hand.

Djinn jerked the boy around to face him, bringing them nose to nose.

"I don't believe criticizing my teaching methods was part of the agreement," he snarled.

A flash of flame washed over both of them, healing Arsen's burns. Djinn then stepped away.

"Whimpering and cries from simple mortals is to be expected," the demon sneered, walking a slow circle about the boy. "You asked to be taught. You will the way I see fit."

He stopped walking, gleaming eyes focused intently on the boy. "Now, attack me."

He narrowed his eyes and resisted the urge to make any sound as he was pulled face to face with the only man alive that he feared. He slowly stretched his neck as soon as he was healed. New skin always felt a little tough to begin with but that was to be expected.

"What?!" He asked eyebrows raised. What was he going to attack him with water? Somehow he knew that wasn't going to be much good.

"With fire, you imbecile," Djinn growled, tone far lower than it usually sounded, features distorting. "It is what we're working on, tonight."

He thrust a hand towards the boy, a jet of mixed flames erupting from his palm.

He growled and set himself on fire. He knew it would never hurt his father but he would still seek the please of momentarily thinking it would. He narrowed his eyes and gritted his as he made a ball of fire in his hand. It was better late than never. Without thinking he threw two balls at his father before rolling to the side and away from his last position. If there was one thing he had it was speed and energy and he was going to use that so he didn't get caught.

One moment, the balls of fire were hurtling towards Djinn and the next, he had evaporated from sight. There was no sign of the demon for almost a minute. And then a thick wall of flames appeared right in the path of Arsen's rolling, its center blasting outwards and throwing the boy across the field no less than a hundred feet or so.

Djinn appeared over his son, grabbing the boy by the hand and yanking him to his feet, a healing flame passing over them as he did so.

"Again," Djinn commanded. Vanishing, he showed up again on the far side of the field, just standing there for a second, two, three...

And then geysers of hellfire exploded up from the ground at random, the first but a few feet from where Arsen stood.
