    Eighty-One Empty Eighty-One

Post by Ninette Fontaine Sun Apr 15, 2012 6:40 pm

Ninette huffed as she stalked out of her room and glared at a few of the bright chirstmas decorations she found upon the exit. Honestly? She was dreading her mothers stupid party.

Though it would provide the perfect opportunity to show Rousseau just how... fun party's can be. Since he seemed to enjoy their last one so much. She smirked as she came into the kitchen, looking for food once more.

The young girl began to play with her short hair as she waltzed over to the Fridge and pulled out a cake. Ninette assumed that the thing was probably for the party but... no one would miss it if she took a piece.

Smiling to herself, she looked over her shoulder as she pulled it out, and went to go get a knife.

Etta was grinning at the fine hunk of young meet sitting beside her, her hand on his knee. "You know, sonny." She was saying, "I've done this for years longer than you've been alive. You needn't be so worried." She patted his knee softly and smiled back at his worried look, adjusting the straps of the bag strapped to her back. "See you."

With that she jumped out of the moving airplane, a shout of glee on her lips.

She waited until she'd almost brushed the rooftops to pull the parachute open.

Ninette squinted as she heard a sound.... it sounded like....

With honest excitment that the girl rarely showed, she dropped the knife, her mothers cake saved for the moment, and ran for the door, coming out just in time to see the plane go away and the parasute expand.

A grin spread across her face.

    "Grandmama!"

Etta smiled as she landed on the ground, opening her arms wide for her granddaughter. "Ninny, there you are dear! I was worried I'd come here and no one would greet me." She smiled proudly as she took in her grqnddaughter's appearance. It had been more than a few months since they'd last seen each other, and she'd missed her little Spitfire. She, at least, had inherited her spirit, even if her daughter had not.

"I heard you were having a Christmas party. I was crushed when I didn't get an invitation." She teased lightly. She knew full well that she'd not been able to receive any owls on her vacation. She hadn't stayed in one place for all those months, and no owl could have tracked her down. The X games in Muggle America had been a huge bit of fun, as had the winter ones she'd participated in. She hadn't won any gold metals, but silver looked just as good as gold did.

Ninette smile grew as she leaned forward to wrap her arms around the only person in the world who could get away with calling her Ninny. Not even her mother was allowed, but Grandma Etta?

"Mama's out right now, doing some dull thing or another." She pulled back to smile at the woman before hugging her again. "I missed you Grandmama. I had not one to talk over the latest boys I'd picked up."

She smirked and rolled her eyes, "Well the last owl we sent after you didn't come back, Mama decided to give up. Are you staying for the party then Grandmama, it will be less dull with you there."

Etta tsked as she hugged the girl to her. "Nonsense. There has to be at least one girl at that school who isn't a complete imbecile." She said, shaking her head. "I doubt even Bauxaburton's has fallen apart so quickly." She slipped out of the backpack, leaving the parachute where it was on the ground.

"Of course I'll be at the party. It wouldn't be a party without me. I don't know how you could handle those boring old parties without me." She led the way through the yard, stopping once they were in the kitchen. She looked around at the treats, picking up the knife and cutting a piece of cake for herself.

"Well Lissy isn't completely useless," Ninette admitted with a grin, "But we had a little Spat earlier, and then I was completely deprived; the twins are good for somethings, but with the boys..."

She gave a smirk and a shrug.

"Oh, I usually find ... something... to amuse me."

Ninette's smirk grew as her Grandmother went and cut off a peace of cake. Mama was going to go balistic later. She went to get herself another plate and followed suit.

"What have you been doing this time, Grandmama?"

"That's my girl." Etta beamed, devouring her piece of cake with a fevor that would make most of her ediquitte teachers drop dead. The one's that weren't dead already, that is.

"Well, over in America they have these things called the 'X Games'. I was at the winter ones. The best of the best from all over the country come and show off their skills. That was only last month, though. Before I was dessert hopping. Then I did a day or two in Africa, and a week in the rainforests. I brought you some samples. My luggage should get here any moment." She smiled. "You should have seen the meat on the jungle guide. That's the soviner I wanted."

Chantelle walked in from buying the decorations feeling quite happy and excited. Well that was until she heard the oh so familiar voice. Please no. Please god, don't do this to me! Chan thought over and over until she gained the courage to walk into the kitchen to see her worse dream come true.

"Mother dear." she said, with not much enthusiasm, as she placed her bags onto the table. "What are you doing here?"

Ninette grinned before stuffing a peice of cake in her mouth, playing the fork before she placed it back in the plate.

"Did you win? You won something didn't you Grandmama?" Nine had full faith that her grandmother could do anything. After all, her whole life it seemed that way. She raised her eyebrow at the meantion of the jungle guide, smirking slightly, "Do I get pictures?"

"Hello Mama," she grinned putting more cake in her mouth, "Look who's here."

Etta smiled as her daugther entered the room. "I've come for Christmas, of course. Aren't I allowed to visit my own family?" She chortled and cut herself another peice of cake.

Reaching into her shirt, she pulled a magical photograph, carefully folded into forths, from her bra and handed it to her granddaughter. It contained a picture of the delicious youth, and he was only twenty five. That wasn't too young by any means.

"I've only got silver metals." She said with a small smile. "Those young snow boarders were kicking my old tail. I couldn't keep up with the most of them." She shrugged. "But I was doing my own thing, and came back within the last few yards of the race. It was a great thing. We should watch it when the TV you're getting for Christmas comes in." She winked at the girl. "Who knows, maybe mr. Tour Guide will come in the mail too."
