Personality: As the original Fire Demon, it would be a bit of an understatement to say that Djinn can be temperamental. Violence is second-nature to him. That more of his interactions with others don't end in bloodshed is a testament to how very much control he really has.

When he wants something, Djinn can be very patient. He does not accept the disrespect of others, and any so foolish as to do so are certain to face the demon's retribution at some point in the future. He takes what he wants and cares little for others. Irascible though he is, Djinn can be charming and persuasive when it suits him - which is usually a good time to start running.

Overall History: Shortly after Lucifer was cast down to the burning Pit of Hell, he created the First Demons. The one that was most like himself was he that was formed of fire and brimstone - the demon later known known as Djinn, though, that is not his True Name. For millennia, Djinn was Satan's most favored and loyal, stationed above even the other fallen angels.

This did not last, however, as a rumor began to rise from the depths of Hell, spread by the mortal damned: Djinn would betray his master, just as Satan betrayed his maker before him. Paranoid, Satan stripped Djinn of his position and authority - thus ensuring that his creation would, in fact, rise against. Though Satan later reinstated Djinn as a gesture of good faith between them, the demon would not be placated. He had already began to plot against his Maker.

For a very long time, Djinn merely plotted. Word of his mutiny often reached the ears of Lord Satan, but he was never able to find Djinn guilty of any such behavior... until he made a deal with the two sons of Galen the swordsmith, creating a new species (vampires), ostensibly the start of an army for himself.

Djinn was punished for this action, but the torture he received seemed to have little effect. It was centuries on Earth before the demon acted again, this time impregnating a mortal woman with his spawn - an act strictly forbidden to demons. Once more, Djinn was put on Hell's torture racks, punished as one of the damned for no less than a hundred years as time in Hell passes.

When he was finally freed, able to occasionally walk the Earth, Djinn sought out his offspring, immediately making a poor impression on the boy. It has since been unclear what precisely he expects of Arsen: an equal, or an obedient subject. Perhaps not even Djinn himself knows.

Frustrated that nothing else seemed to have any effect on his mutinous creation, Satan finally resorted to Djinn's current punishment: banishment from Hell to walk the Earth, stripped of almost all his power.

Djinn currently goes by the name 'Druitt'.
