Man Eater

Viola sat on the throne room floor, considering the night before with Ethon. Ethon. She smiled to herself at the thought of his name. He belonged to her, now and vise versa. It was a nice feeling to be in an adult situation instead of being treated like a child.

Letting out a soft groan, Viola rolled over and rubbed her dark eyes. Hunger always made her tired, but she didn't plan to leave any time soon. She wanted to day dream about the rocky relationship she was in, and laugh.

Mora had been looking for Vi, as it bothered her that they spent so much time apart now. They were usually inseprable, not counting the times where one would go off on their own. They'd always came back though. Always.

She pushed open the throneroom door, grinning when she caught sight of the girl. "Sweets." She greeted, plopping onto the floor next to her. She crossed her legs beneath her, glancing at the empty throne before returning her eyes to her freshblood.

"So, how's your maker been treating you?" She asked, purely curious. Vi and Master Ethon had seemed to get along better than she and he did.

Viola sat up when Amora entered the room, a dazed expression covering her face. She threw herself on her friend's lap as soon as she sat down, an unusual smile on her face.

"Ethon? He's..." she shrugged, a pleased hum in her throat, "Great. Absolutely super,"

She closed her eyes, trying to remember what she was thinking about. "Remember our bet? Who would find a boyfriend here the fastest?" That wasn't the exact bet, but Viola was willing to skim details, "I won,"

Mora blinked down at her freshie, running her fingers affectionately through her hair. "The bet?" She asked. A smirk stole across her face. "We had no bet about boyfriends, Sweets. I remember a different bet." She smiled fondly down at the girl. "Are you saying what I think your saying?" She teased.

Viola looked away, embarrassed of her actions. She stick out her tongue, refusing to admit the bet wasn't about boyfriends.

"I'm saying exactly that," she croaked, then covered her mouth an regret. her cheeks were red with shame and, yet, she was pleased, "It was... deliciously sinful,"

Mora sighed, a smirk slitting across her face. "Its supposed to feel that way." She pouted down at her, winking. "You know, that means you win. I haven't..." she winked. "Boyfriended, my maker, and I doubt I will." She smirked. "For the actual bet, though, I suppose I'll let you have a turn with my favorite mortal." She pouted. "And I'll let you choose our next country..."

Viola smiled proudly, feeling very... powerful and womanly from this past experience. She poked Amora's stomach, discouraging her negativity towards the man. "He likes you, Amora. I can feel it,"

She nodded, pleased with the spoils of the win. "He smells nice when he doesn't wear cologne. Like cumin." Viola always had a weird thing with smells.

The other part, though, upset her. Another country? That would mean leaving Ethon. Her stomach tightened with sadness at the thought. "I want... Espana. I miss mi pais de origen."

Mora smiled at her, but didnt take a thing she said seriously. "If you say so Vi." She agreed halfheartedly. "I'm sure youre right."

She smiled in spite of herself. "My maker smells good too." She admitted. "Must be a Makerthing.

She laid backward, running her fingers through Vi's hair and starting to braid her hair. "Ah, Espana. Beautiful this time of year." She hummed softly. "When do you want to leave?"

Viola shook her head, sitting up. "I was talking about how your mortal smells," she replied, flopping on to her stomach, "Ethon smells like... that moment after a rain storm when the grounds still musky, and sunlight, and candied oranges, and... and..." she placed her head in her hands, kicking her feet like a school girl, "Love,"

She gave a soft shrug, resting her head close to Amora again. "Master Aumerle smells nice too, I guess. Spicy and rich, like chocolate and spiced coffee." she peered at her friend, teasing, "Maybe I should conquest him next, si?"

Like she would ever conquest anybody. She doubted she and Ethon would be together anytime soon.

She groaned at the braid, but let the girl play with her hair. It was such a hassel; she should just chop it all off. "When? Not soon, really. Month or so. Maybe even more,"

Mora raised an eyebrow. "And what does love smell like, hmm?" She asked, her voice light. It was nearly evident that she was barely listening, only humoring the girl. "Master Ethon does smell nice."

She tightened the braid slightly, making sure it was straight. "Aurmerle smells like raw cocoa, dangerous, spicy." She smirked, showing she was teasing. "You been sniffing my maker?"

"Conquest away, though I suggest Sorin first. He's... tastier, I think." She winked, knowing deep down she was lying.

"If we're staying that long, I'm going to need to get a job." She said sadly. "You know how the Pack is."

Viola closed her eyes, trying to recall the scent of love. It was something she couln't vocalize, so instead she hummed a simple tune for no reason. Something by an old band. The Beatles or something.

"I sniff everyone. I like to smell people," she said, "Sorin smells like pine trees and sap. Don't like it."

Viola sighed, sitting up. Not again. "I-I can work at the strip thingy again... I-I c-can deal, if it'll help you,"

Mora paused in her braiding, listening to Sweets hum. Slowly, she resumed. She recognized the song from somewhere... but where?

She wrinkled her nose. "He does smell a bit too...." trailing off, she finished the braid, twirling the hair around her finger so it stayed in. "Perhaps I should stop playing with him, get a new toy." She shrugged.

"No." She snapped. "We don't need it that much. You don't have to do that again." Gently, she brushed a stray peice of hair back in place. "I told you you'd never have to do that again when I found out about it, remember?" She shook her head. "You do too much for me, Vi. I've got it this time."

The younger vampire pulled her head away from the girl's grasp, sick of the treatment. She rested outside of arm's reach, undoing the braid again. She hated messing with her hair.

"Maybe you shouldn't... play.. around?" she asked, voice growing quiet again. Her hair was back into her face- the way she liked it, like a wall between her and the world.

"I don't like that job..." she admitted, "Made me cry and beg forgiveness." Pausing, she then gave a smile, "We can ask Ethon and Master Aumerle... They would help us. Neither of them want The Pack wandering around, trying to rip us apart,"

Amora laughed. It was lighthearted and rang around the room like music, and died down slowly. "Stop playing? But Vi, I would be so bored! What would I do without my toys?"

She growled, low in the back of her throat. "We don't need help." She grumbled. "Not from anyone. Especially not from them." She shook her head. "I've got this. It's only a ten thousand every two months, it's not an impossible payment plan." Every time she'd been a bit late, Pack Leader's dearly beloved had taken the initive to stake her in gratitude. She'd pulled it out and she'd lived, but it had still hurt like hell. She rubbed her chest in the memory, not even going to think about what happened when she didn't have enough.

She frowned and brushed Vi's hair back, looking the girl in the eyes. "I don't like when I can't see your eyes." She said firmly. "You're so pretty Vi, just let it show."

Viola gave her a sad smile, pushing her hair out of her eyes. "You could fall in love again," she suggested, sensing this wouldn't be a popular choice for the other vampire. "Master would like that,"

She flinched back at the growl, ready for a hit. She untensed, frowning again. "I'm sorry," she whispered. She'd ask Ethon about it later, without Amora's permission.

"I'm not pretty. Average, at best,"

Mora narrowed her eyes. "Again?" She asked, ignoring the odd feelings coming from where her heart used to be. "What do you mean again? I've never been in love."

She sighed. "No. I'm sorry. I'm not angry with you, never at you Vi. It's just..." She trailed off. She didn't need to burden her freshblood with this. Not now.

"You're very pretty." She corrected. "So pretty, I've even gotten you a present, just for you. It'll be here any day now."

"I see the way you look at him," Viola whispered, pulling her knees to her chest. She had to pick her next words wisely, or face Amora's wrath. "They say vampires mate for life, once they find the right person... Maybe, it's more than fate that brought you two together again,"

Her face dulled for a secpnd, then brighten at thenote of a present. "For me?" she crawled over to her friend, "What present? You spend too much on me! No more money!"

Mora growled, but quickly schooled her expression, not wanting to scare the girl. "I don't look at him any particular way! Maybe with unadulterated hate, but nothing else!" She frowned. "You've been brainwashed by all those spanish romances you keep reading, Vi. I don't believe in fate." She shook her head. "And if Fate did exist, or the Fates, or even the old gods, the only reason they would have brought me here is punishment."

She grinned, her smile like the morning sun. "It was barely any money at all, I promise. And it's just for you." She winked at her, leaning back on her palms. "But it's a surprise, so you don't get to know what it is."

"You're wrong,"

Viola put a hand over her mouth, surprised at her own words. She rested her head on her hands, shaking it with a sigh. "God brought us here for a reason- I know it. If he was your lover once, he'll be with yu again,"

She snorted, leaning away. "I'm not taking it unless I know what it is now,"

Amora fought a growl and shook her head but said nothing. When Vi got like this, it was best to stay silent, to keep your doubts to yourself. That way, when she was proven wrong, which she would be, there would be no need to rub it in. Much.

She smiled. "Fine then. When you get it, you can see it, and if you do not want it anymore, I will take it away." She smiled. "I'm sure there are others somewhere who will want it anyway."

Viola kept a stiff upper lip and shook her head at the thought of her present. She won the bet and the man; she didn't need much else Especially with that job in Durmstrang coming up around the corner.

"Fine, whatever," she sighed, crossing her arms.

She nudged Amora with her elbow, a small smile on her face. "You can't make anymore innocent jokes, you know,"

Amora fake gasped, her eyes widening comically. "Who will I use for a virgin sacrifice now?! I'll have to find someone else! What a hassle." She grinned, unable to fight the amusement she got from the situation.

"Alas, my dear Spanard." She said with a sigh, letting herself lean backwards and relaxing against the floor. "I can still make as many Pure jokes as I want..." she stuck her tongue out at her. "Because believe it or not, Vi, I doubt you'll ever be impure."
