    Some Random Bar
    Some random Backwoods Town
    Finland

Kallie would hate herself for it in the morning. Heck part of her already did, but to be truthful she couldn't even say how she had gotten there.

One moment she had been at her house... she had finally agreed to go talk to her father for one last time. He had said he'd cleaned up. She didn't believe him. She had given up on believing him years ago.

And yet, she had dared to hope. Dared that for one shinning moment she could maybe have.... some sort of family? Maybe just have one person to lean on when she...

But that had been a foolish thought. The man could never keep his hands off the booze for more than a few hours. He had already been pissed drunk by the time she had gotten there. Her mother had been in thier room with a "Head-ache". The older woman had suffered from "Headache"s Kallie's whole life. They were nothing more than an excuse to wallow in her own pain without actually admitting she needed help.

They both needed help. They had always needed help. But they were both too proud to admit it to themselves or anyone else.

    Pride cometh before the fall.

Fun, then, how after an hour of yelling at her father in disgust, she had gone to the nearest Bar and done the exact same thing she had been yelling at him for.

"Hope you're happy now, Papa, ," she slurred in messy Finnish. It amused her greatly that she could usually speak four languages intelligably and now she could barely get out her first language, "Just like you now. Just like-"

The woman let out a delicate sounding hiccup and slammed back the rest of her god-knows-how-many-eth shot of firewhiskey. The burn didn't even bother her anymore. She banged the empty glass on the bar top and snapped her finger for more.

The barkeep, youngish looking man, who she was sure she should know.... if her brain wasn't nearly as intoxicated as it was, she'd recogize the boy who use to live down the street from her.

    The problems with small towns.

"You've had enough for the night Kallie, ."

The woman frowned at the man for a moment, not quite understanding his words.

"D-don't you know who I am?" Her frown deepened, forgetting that this was a muggle town, and her name had no other meaning except for the poor girl who lost her sister too soon, and struggled to keep her shattered family together from the age of five.

"Of course Kallie. You're Kallie Nikkala the-"

" I am the Minister of-" whatever she was going to say was cut off as something was thrown past her head, missing her by an inch.

"shut up will yeah! Some of use are trying to wallow in our grief here."

Eyes flashing, and heavily under the influence, Kallie turned towards the man, and didn't take in the fact that he was twice her size, or could easily fold her into a pretzle. All she saw was a rude remark, that was getting on her nerves.

"You want to s-s-say that aga-."

The large man snorted, "At least I can hold my liqure enough to say it."

Kallie didn't wait for him to finish the statement. Before the man - or really herself - even knew what was happneing, she had dived herself towards him, and managed to knock him right off his stool.

Brock was, well, he was here because-

That was a story for another day, the fact was; he was here.

The pub was smaller than usual, and he raised a hand in greeting to all those people he knew and had known from back then. They still recognized him. It was kind of endearing, actually.

"Veni! Get your girl, would you?"

"Do I have to?" He whined to the bartender, making his way there anyway. It wasn't like he was going to do anything else, anyway, it was just... something to say. The bartender laughed as Brock muscled his way between the two, picking up Kallie easily in his arms.

"And what do you think you're doing, Volchoka?" He chastised, raising an eyebrow at her. "Picking fights? Shame on you." He kept a firm hold on her, moving away from the man on the ground, that is, until the man stood up and staggered over to him.

"W-where do you think you're going?" Winding his arm back, the man made to punch them both, and Brock moved. Balancing Kallie easily in one arm, he blocked the punch and landed a perfectly timed blow to the center of the man's face, breaking his nose and causing him to fall backwards.

"Gentlemen do not fight women." He snarled, balancing Kallie in two arms again before turning away from the man. "Idiootti" He growled lowly, moving toward the exit. He paused outside, just outside the light spring shower, blinking into the darkness.

"Where do I take you?" He asked, mostly to himself.

Despite her small stature, the young girl put up a solid fight against being pulled away. She flailed with both arms and legs, pulling in the other direction, back towards the man, rather than the way the arm wanted her to go.

"Hee deserved it Pentu!!" she whinned, still struggling against him, "he-he-"

She cut off slightly with a groan, as he moved her to one arm and she started to feel horribly woozey.

Still, as the man fell back she couldn't help but stick out her tongue very undignified like at the man, before she suddenly found herself being pulled towards the door and the whinning started again.

"Brooooock. Put me doown. Put meee doowwwn!!" she pouted, clinging closer to him despite the fact that she was asking for the oposite. "I'll-I'll... bite you."

Once outside though, all that was forgotten as she shivered and pulled herself closer, this time for warmth.

"I'm cooold," she muttered, oicking up whatever language he seemed to be speaking in, "Noot homee - isä's stupid... noo home."

He glanced down at her, raising an eyebrow. "You'll bite me?" He asked, smirking slightly. "Well, you have fun with that."

Ignoring her complaining in favor of holding her closer, he meandered down the street, stepping out into the rain when he had to and making his way past the small town stores. "Sorry about the cold, Volchonka. You're just gonna have to deal until we get home." He murmured, ignoring the looks from those in the shops and continuing to his place.

It was dingy and small, but it was just as he liked it, out of the way and off the record. Slipping inside was easy, and he simply kicked the door closed behind them as he made his way through the small, single floor cottage.

"You're absolutely soaked now, sorry." He muttered, moving her into the bathroom and placing her on the floor. "Don't move." He was in his room and back with a change of clothes in seconds, placing them on the sink. He ran his hands through his hair and looked at her. "Just... change okay? then we'll get you some coffee, and we'll... go from there."

The young woman shivered all the more violent as the stepped out into the rain; she attempted to swat at the drops as if they were bugs that she could scare off not water.

She squirmed slightly at the word home, mistaking his meaning of it, for her own, which meant back to her parents.

"Noo, Brock," she whinned again, "Noo home. Noooo-no-no..."

She was still mumbling through her protest as he charried her into what was quite obviously not her home. She frowned at her surroundings, visible confused as to where she was, her brain unable to put the pieces together and figureout that the house must belong to Brock. In fact she was so confused at the moment, she couldn't even find the words to ask a question to help that confusion.

Upon the order not to move, the woman in fact took it quite literally, freezing to the spot she was, and not even taking a breath. Her lungs were starting to protest when the man reappeared not even a mintue later.

"Does that- mean I can- move again?" she asked between tiny gasps of breath.

Not even waiting for his answer, or if he moved before hoping up - wabbling slightly as she did so - and began to strip. Struggling greatly with her wet clothes, confused as to why they were sticking so much.

"Iii," she drawled, lenthening the word, as she finished putting on the clothes, "Dooon't want coffee... coffee is blaaah. Nooo Coffee! I want-I want-" she didn't remember what she wanted as she got distracted by something on the wall, staring at it with facination instead.

"Yes, you can mo-" Brock averted his gaze instantly, stepping back and around the corner to brace his back against the wall outside the bathroom. You'd think the woman would have more-

    Well... sobriety.

Then again, Kallie always was a complete lightweight.

He peeked around the doorway when she stopped talking, blinking at her in his clothing. "Come on, Volchonka. I'll get you whatever you want." Stepping into the bathroom, he wound his arm around her waist for support, gently moving toward the kitchen. "What do you want, Kallie?" He asked, seating her in a kitchen chair before moving to the cabinets. The place was always stocked, thank heavens. You really had to love those pack perks. He was glad none of the others were here at the moment.

"I can waaalk," she stated as he began to help her to the kitchen, but her legs were so shakey between them both even her intoxicated brain to seem to think it was a better idea not to try it, "You knowwww."

She frowned as she was set on the chair, her eyes going around the room, with wide-eyes interest, as she fidgeted in her chair, "I want- I want..." She frowned looking at the cabnet, her brain not quite understanding why there suddenly seemed to be more of them, "I wantt... the room to stop," she tilted her head, unaware that she was already leaning way to the fair side of the chair. "Brooockk, why is the room alll... spinny, spi-"

The last spin was lost as she tipped right over and crumpled off the chair.

"Of course you can, Volchonka." He said absently as he began to rummage through the cabinets in search of simple food. He should probably start her on bread...

In the moment between reaching for the bread and pulling out the peanut butter, he was in motion, dropping the plastic jar in favor of catching Kallie. He kicked away the chair as it made to crush her, tugging her into his arms and settling her on the counter instead. "Try to stay upward, would you?" He chastised lightly, positioning himself between her legs to keep her on the counter as he reached for the peanut butter and bread again. Handing her a piece of bread and commanding her to eat it, he began to slather peanut butter onto the pieces of bread.

"It wasn't myy fault," she whinned, pouting at the man, "If the room would stop spinning then I could stay pystyyn."

She continued to pout as she took the bread from him, picking it apart into little pieces instead of eating them. She stuck one of the smaller peices in her mouth, chewing it for a moment, before frowning at the peice still in her hand.

She looked at it, looked at the man in front of her, and then back at the piece.

She threw it at Brock, letting out a giggle as she did so.

"Ooops," she said, grinning in a way that stated she was barely holding back another giggle.

Brock stuck one of the pieces of bread into his mouth, glancing up at her every so often to make sure she was actually eating... which she wasn't. Figures. He looked back at the bread he was putting peanut butter on when the bread hit him squarely on the forehead. He looked up, glaring at her, and snatching the torn bread from her thigh, where it had fallen. "Cut it out." He ordered, mumbling around the bread. "And eat it."

Picking the girl up and moving into the connected livingroom, he plopped her onto the couch and laid shoved the piece of bread into her hand. "Now... behave while I change." And with that he was gone into his room, though he left the door open, as to make sure she didn't kill herself.

"I always behave," she stated, sticking out her tongue at his retreating back before turning back to the bread in her lap. She frowned at it for a long moment before ripping it in half. After looking at it for another moment, she bit into one half, slowly chewing before swallowing.

In this mannor, she slowly made her way through the bread, her gaze drifting around the room, lingering on this item or that, before moving on to the next one. Her gaze froze on the telvision. It looked.... funny. Looking down to find all the bread was gone, she pushed her self off the couch, and wandered over to the deviced.

Slowly the woman reached out her hand to touch the glass screen... only to have her hand go all the way through. Her eyes light up with excitment as she figured it out. The glass was gone! Giggling slightly at her discovery she kept sliding her hand through the space.

    Until something bit her!

Letting out the tiniest squeal she pulled back her hand, and stuck it in her mouth. Sucking on the tiny cut she had gotten from some frayed cord or other device that once wasn't supposed to touch.

"Bad TV," she frowned at it, taking her finger out of her mouth for a moment to look at the tiny line of blood oozing out of her finger, before sticking it back to her lips.

"Broock," her voice stretched across the small cabin as she paddled back in the way she had thought he had gone, looking ten times smaller than she was in his too big clothes, her hair haning lank yet wild around her face from the rain, and her bleeding pointer finger in her mouth. "Broocckk! Your TV bit me!"

One of the dilemmas of being a good person, it would seem, was running out of clean clothes. Pulling the bright blue basketball shorts over his hips, Brock proceeded to ransack his room, searching for a shirt he knew he would find in one place and one place only - on the deeply intoxicated Minister of Magic.

Pausing at her noise, he looked over his shoulder, only able to see her standing before going back to his search. Where were all the clothes? He was going to have a strong talk to his pack about what to do with clothes at spare safehouses the next time he was home if this was any indication...

"Yes, Volchonka?" he called as he layed on the floor behind the bed, searching underneath. It was supiciously spotless... wolves could clean everything but clothes, it would seem...

"What?" He was at his door in seconds, looking down at her with scruitiny. He ignored the way his wolf appreciated her in his clothing, and the way it was scratching at the underside of his skin to tell him to touch her. They were alone here. No one would-

Blinking away his thoughts, he held out his hand for her injured one, frowning into his livingroom. "If you don't want to get bitten." He advised, looking back at her. "Don't put your hand inside of things you don't understand."

Eyes sparkling with genuine - or at least drunken - worry and regret, her bright lips pulled into a pout as she timidly gave the hand over.

"Please don't be mad," she whined softly, her eyes boring into him. "I didn't-didn't mean tooo. It just... it looked funny. So I wanted to know why."

She blinked her eyes a couple of times.

    "And then it bit me!"

Taking the hand and gently examining the small cut, Brock stuck the finger in his mouth, sucking until the slight bleeding stopped. Pulling away, he pressed a soft kiss to the cut, rolling his eyes. "There. All better."

He blinked down at her, confusion furrowing his brow. "I'm not angry." He looked her over, tugging her gently forward by the hand he still held and turning her slowly to make sure she wasn't injured any more. "I think it's time for bed, Volchonka." He said, waving his arm toward the bed. He pulled her into the room after him, pulling back the blankets and waiting for her to crawl in before blinking.

He was still holding her hand.

Gently attempting to pull it away from her, he tucked her in, turning to go. "Have a nice sleep, Nikki."

Her grip on his hand, which had been practically none existant before this moment - tightened as he tried to pull away, a tiny whimper leaving her lips.

"Don't go," she muttered, her face curling into the pillow as she slipped back into Finnish without even realizing it, "please. No wanna be alone.."

Tugging him back slightly, she finally let go of his hand in favour of pulling the blanket closer to herself, "Tell me a story, Brock. I want a story."

His wolf did something odd at the tone of her voice, his body only going as far as his arm could while still holding her hand. A small shiver wracked his body, and then he was back at her side, gazing down at her with something unreadable in his deep brown eyes. Carefully, he perched on the edge of the bed, a cold feeling stealing over him as she let go of his hand. "I am not going anywhere if you do not want me to, Volchonka." he said softly, running her fingers through his hair. "Which story would you like to hear?"

"I want... a happy story ," the woman muttered rather childishly, her eyes already closing, and her long blonde hair spilling about her, a single ringlet already drifting across her surprisingly peaceful face, "I want a story where, where everyone is nice, and happy, and parents act like parents, and-and..."

Her voice died off for a moment, her breathing evening out so that it almost seemed as if the woman had indeed fallen asleep.

And then in the a quiet voice, she added, "I want a story I haven't ruined already."
