Lesson two (first years)

Pepper stood in the middle of the field waiting forthe first year students, she was looking forward to this, because this was her first day of teaching, she had missed the first lesson because something had come up at home.

She lay down the brooms in a double line and then looked down at her name list, hoping everyone would show up.

Seth was excitied that Flying lessons was going to happen. He had been disappointed when he found out that the first lesson would be canceled. He was the first to arrive at the field so he greeted the profesor then waited for the other students to show up.

Flora walked in a relaxed pace. She was feeling better than she had felt years.
'Hello Professor' she greeted her with a nod.

J. J. rushed out into the field, excited. She was going to learn to fly!
This was going ot be so amazing.
"Hullo Professor," she greeted, smiling happily.
She looked around at the two other students.
"Hey, how are you Seth," she smiled at her housemate, and turned to the other student, "Hullo, it's Flora right?"

"Yes, nice to see you again J.J." She nodded at Seth, too.

Lucas was late for signing up for the Flying lesson. He hoped the Professor wouldn't mind. "Um, Professor?" He said, as he entered the field. "I just joined and was hoping if it wasn't too late to join."

"Good day first years, I hope you're ready to learn some flying, I'm professor Peppermint, and I'll be teaching you this year." Pepper said and looked at her students.

"Please, go stand by a broom, it doesn't matter which broom, since they're all the same." Pepper said and pointed to the brooms.

"When you've chosen your broom, hold your hand above it and say 'up', loud and clearly. And I do not care if you've already learned how to fly a broom, it's my job to teach you this." Pepper said with a stern look on her face. "When you've accomplished to make the broom fly, mount it, and stay on the ground, until I tell you something else."

J. J. listened to the teachers instructions before going to get a broom. There were many to choose from, but some how J. J. felt like she couldn't just pick up the first one she saw. She took a long moment to sort through the brooms, finally choosing one that called to her.
Taking the broom she walked a little bit a way and dropped in onto the ground.

Taking a deep breath, she held her hand over top of the object and said in the most commanding voice she could muster,

"Up!"

The broom rolled around on the ground, possibly bouncing slightly upwards before falling still once more.
Well that didn't work.

Bittting her lip she tried it again to the same result.

And again.

And againg.

Finally she threw her hands in the air in frustration.

"Just come Up!"

She jumped back as the broom soared passed her head at lightning speed, before plummeting back down to the earth with a hard smack.

"Oops," J. J. blushed inspecting the broom. Thankful that did not break it. "Sorry Professor."

Flora went to stand by a broom. She could almost feel the eager energy coming off the broom.
Alright, here you go, she thought, 'Up!' the broom slammed into her hand. Ouch! Calm down! Not so fast! She mounted the broom and waited.

Pepper found the lesson was ending, and looked at her students.

"Now students, there are 10 minutes left, you can do what you want, you can fly around for ten minutes or go up to the castle a little early, it's your choice." She said and smiled. "Points will be taken from those who did not show up, and points will be given to those who took part of the lesson" She finished.
