It's a bit... odd, really. For months - at the least, a year - I have been dreaming of darkness. Fumbling about, tripping. Hearing, yet seeing nothing; feeling, but surrounded by nothing, all the same.
I had thought, perhaps, I was to become blind. Vainly, I thought, 'Who would want a blind girl?' A silly thought, I know, but you know how I am. Only now, as I write this, do I know my true fate. I regret only that I shall never see you again, in life.
Ironic, that I should be the first to go. I hadn't thought it would be that way. Alas, I must be vain and selfish, yet again, and confess that knowing you will eventually join me makes it easier to accept what is about to happen. It makes it easier to embrace my death.
Know that I loved you, Ares. That whatever lies beyond, I will always love you.
