My Published Poem

Crash! Bang! Boom!
The drums are pounding.
Brat! Brup! Blast!
The trumpets resounding.

The notes are coming loud and clear,
Festivals are drawing nearer and near.
The whole school asks, “Band? What band?”
All we do is adjust our stand.
Look, a hemi-demi-semi-quaver.
We look, we see, we never do waver.
The band is ready to take the hardware,
So all other bands better be aware.

Band class? WOOOP. Nice job!

Here's another I gotta tweak to see if it can get published:


We run.
We run to feel the grass beneath our feet
To hear the bitter wind howling in our ears
To see the rapid changing scene pass our eyes
And so we run.

The scent
Our noses turn to the wind, sweetly scented with prey
Our hearts run rampant with the thrill of the chase
The turf crumbles beneath our claws as we run pursuit
Our leader leaps and strikes our quarry
The prey comes down and starts to bleed
The scent of blood in our keen noses
We live for the scent

We weep
Though we cannot cry, we weep for our fallen brothers
Killed because those who misunderstand fear us
We hunt the lands of our forefathers to live
For surviving together we are persecuted
The two legs hunt us, poison us, trap us
They kill our young, our old, our brothers
For those who have fallen
We weep

The moon
We have no name for the ever changing circle
To us, it has always been and always shall be
We cry our laments and our joy to its bright face
We hold council and hunt under its gaze
The circle protects and invigorates us
Warm and cold; our lunar mistress
