Karma Black - Practical

(because I don't know where else to put it, that's why)

Karma walked toward the castle, following the bend of the forbidden forest. This exam would be one in the bag, she was sure. She could face a bloody boggart, easy peasy. It would only be Kama, just as it always was.

She gave no thought that it could have changed.

She was half way to the castle when she heard it. A twig snap that could only be....

Arsen stumbled out of the forest, covered in blood, blue veins erupting from his skin in every place she could see. "Run Karma!" He gasped, struggling to his feet only to fall again. "They're after me!"

"What are you-"

"Go!"

She ran forward, reaching for him, but he recoiled. "Don't touch..." She did it anyway, pulling the boy up and onto her shoulder. She made to take a step, then froze.

"Half fang? What are you..."

She dropped him.

"Ow! That-"

She pulled out her wand and cocked her head to the side, frowning down at him. "That's weird." She noted. "Didn't know my boggart had changed."

"Karma-"

"Riddikulus." The boy's eyes flashed orange, and then he burst into spontanious flame, Pyro snarling at her as he burned from the inside out. She frowned. How was this funny? "Riddikulus." A bucket of water dumped on top of the boggart-turned-boy, and he sat there, drenched, and looking up at her with wide blue eyes. She frowned again. "Riddikulus." His eyes flashed red, and he was burning again, getting the water off of him, but healed.

"This is entirely too difficult." She frowned at him, then flicked her wand again. "Riddikulus." The boy shrunk, his skin softening into a cute, Arsen plushie. Karma grinned. "There." She laughed softly, sending the boggart back into the shadows of the forest.

She headed back toward the castle, humming.

"Oh, and if you're wondering, Headmaster." She called out to whereever he was. "Hothead's bodyheat has never been that low. Not even as a human." Then she was gone.
