The winter air seemed to blow through Iva's body, giving her normally hearty body a slow shiver that crept up and down her spine. Blonde curls bounced and tangled around her shoulders as she moved- window to window. Curling her arms around herself, Iva gave an angry sigh; the small girl hadn't bothered to grab a jacket that morning- the cold would be her punishment.

Framed. Framed. Unbelievable! She could go to jail! Sure, Papa was working it out, but... how could she be so sloppy. She clicked her heel on the ground, trying to chip the brick below. Idiot. What if Papa-?

She shook that thought out of her head.

Step, step, step. They were so loud, the stairs to the clock tower. And cold, too. It was colder than she could remember experiencing, but since she spent the whole summer cooped up in her room and a lot of her classes were inside, Ellie really didn't get out much. With another shiver, she pulled her thin jacket tighter around her small frame, muttering about how she should have brought her bigger one.

It didn't click that there was someone else up in the clock tower until Ellie had practically walked into her. "Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry!" she gasped and stepped back. "Wait, sorry... Were you thinking there? You looked like it was important. Uh, sorry..." Apologizing really wasn't something she'd managed to get the hang of, and always seemed to do it a million and one times.
