Yellow Polka Dot Bikini

The sun was warm against her bare skin, all important batches clothed in a black and yellow polka dot bikini - mostly modest, though there were moments of self consciousness that made her want to fiddle with it. This moment was not one of them. Sunglasses protecting her closed eyelids from the bright light, she was in fact being lulled into a state of lazy sleep by the warmth.

The sounds of waves were not helping either.

A beach trip had been her idea. Actually her insistent was more the proper word. Azorat had been boring her greatly and Juliet was a firm believer that it was not summer until she had arrived at a beach. Thus, she was now at one. Though were Zander had wandered off too she had lost track of the second her eyes had drifted closed. As far as she was aware he could still be right beside her, or halfway down the beach. Part of her wanted to get up and check but she was too lethargic to bother.

The sound of small children was getting louder, though she did not feel the need to appraise that either. Of course, when she caught a Frisbee with her face not a minute later, she began to regret her former decision not check out their proximity.

"Are you alright?" His voice was peppered with concern, and just the smallest amount of guilt as the small group of children he had been invited to play frisbee with - by the insistence of their scantly clad babysitters further down the beach - stopped a few feet off, near the sand castle he'd abandoned to do so. His body dripped with sweat, bare chest gleaming in the sunlight as he offered her an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry I did not catch it in time." He apologized worriedly though really the throw hadn't been to him, nor had it been from or gone anywhere close to him.

Leaning over to take the frisbee, he let it fly, sending it far down the beach and the children after it. Cupping her face with one hand, Zander gazed down at Julie worriedly, biting his lower lip as he examined her. "You are alright, aren't you?"

Startled more than anything else, Juliet blinked up at the boy as he came over to her. To be honest, she still hadn't pieced together everything that had just occurred enough to even figure out why she shouldn't be okay. It was the slight scratch in her sunglasses that really pushed all of it together.

Cuddling her cheek into his hand ever so slightly, she pushed herself up on her elbows and used the other to push the now scratched glasses onto her head. "I'm going to start charging you every time you ask that from now on." She grinned before adding rather mischievously, "And if you couldn't figure it out, that means, yes I am alright."

Sitting up all the way, she looked at the beach and the people that were around.

"Besides, I deserve to get a frisbee in the face. I must be a horribly boring beach date, just laying like a lump on a log."

"I don't think I have the funds to put up with that." He admitted, attempting a teasing smile as it turned out she really was okay. It wasn't like it was a frizzing wisbee or anything. He didn't like the look of those things, nor the thought of one coming so close to Juliet's face. Either way, he was probably over thinking all of this anyway.

"That's good." He smiled brightly, genuinely pleased that she was fine. His smile faded slightly, and worry replaced the happiness in his eyes. "Oh. I'm being a terrible date aren't I? We should spend time together." He sat down, quite suddenly, on the sand beside her, smiling again. "We can stay if you want to stay, it is a rather nice day, is it not?"

Wrinkling her nose with a laugh she pulled herself up properly and bumped her shoulder against his. "Well then you better learn to save up your 'are you okay's for when you really need them."

Digging her feet into the sand, wiggling her toes at the warmth that spread from the sand to the rest of her. She rolled her eyes as he turned her comment on herself into a critic of him.

"You need to worry less," she said, brushing her lips across the warm skin of his cheek before her eyes spied the bright sparking water crashing against the shore. "I may get myself into scrapes a lot, but I'm not that delicate. And you're the perfect date."

Entwining their fingers, she jumped to her feet, dragging Zander with her. Using her free hand she took her glasses off her head, the few strains of hair they had been holding back falling around her face again, and threw them rather carelessly onto her towel.

"I want to go swimming."
