Lesson Three (First Years) Empty Lesson Three (First Years)

Post by Guest Wed Sep 28, 2011 5:21 pm

Richard walked into his classroom, whistling a happy tune and twirling a cane he'd transfigured out of a toothpick he'd found at breakfast. He sat down in his chair, throwing his cane away and watching it revert back to a toothpick in mid-air.

Damian made his way to Transfiguration class, happy to see that he was the first to arrive. He shot the professor a tentative smile.

"Hello, M-master Romain," he stammered a bit in uncertainty. The man could still change his mind about teaching him, after all, and Damian's success in the previous lesson had been rather slower in coming than he himself would have liked. The boy decided not to worry about it. He'd just be sure to do his best this lesson.

He took a seat near the front of the classroom.

Lesson Three (First Years) Empty Lesson Three

Flora entered the classroom and noticed the professors apparent light mood. It won't last long, he'll start scowling the moment we fail for the first time, Flora thought. She greeted him nonetheless and took a seat.

    J. J. slipped into the classroom. Professor Romain seemed to be in a good mood today. She wonderd it that would last. She hoped so.

Calling out a soft greeting to the Professor, she sat into the closest seat.

Another hours another class. Aquila walked into the classroom not as exuberant as he had been in some classes, but not as gloomy as he had for others.

"How's your day been so far Professor?" he smiled as he approached a seat.

"Flora," he smiled as he sat down, "You beat me for once."

Flora smirked back in response, 'You better get used to it.' She murmured.

    Richard waved happily at Damian,

"Morning kiddo!" he greeted him with a massive grin, before turning to Aquila, "Hey Turrow! This day has been freaking awesome so far!"

Richard took a sip from his flask and his eyes widdened as he was suddenly filled with indescribable energy. He stood up from his desk and clapped his hands together,

"Alright then!" he grinned at his class, "Today I offer you a choice in what to do!"

    He held up one hand,

"We can either work on a class project to make our own Wizarding Chess sets.... OR!" he held up his other hand, "We can work on making little toy aeroplanes, which I'll charm to fly like paper aeroplanes. Choose guys!"

Wow! Wizard's Chess! There's no way Flora'd lose a chance like that. So she put up her hand and said, 'The Chess set please, Professor.'

"And you imply that I'm peppy," he muttered to Flora with a small smile.

"I am going to have to go with the Chess Professor," Aquila threw in his imput with a smile.

    J. J. started for a moment as the Professor spoke. She had underestimated his good mood when she walked in. The man was almost... well he kind of reminded her of her brother when he came home drunk to be perfectly honest... or possibly really hopped up on caffine.

She leaned back in her chair as she mulled over the two options.

"Honestly Professor," she said softly after a moment, "I would be fine with either of those options."

Damian grinned in response to the professor's greeting. He decided to take that as a sign that perhaps the man wasn't on the verge of changing his mind about keeping him on as his apprentice. At least, not at the moment.

His eyes widened at the choices they had and he nodded in vigorous agreement with J.J. "Will be able to learned the one we don't do today some other time?" he asked, practicing shivering in his excitement. This was going to be a brilliant class!

Richard grinned a little at Damian's enthusiasm and shrugged happily,

"Who knows kiddo? Who know...?" he grinned a little and moved forward purely to ruffle Damian's hair, before leaning back against his desk, "So chess set seems to be the winner."

He thought about it for a moment before taking big sheets of parchment out from his desk,

"Alright, here's what we'll do." he handed each of the students a big piece of parchment, "You draw each chess piece on this parchment and then cut them out with the diffindo spell. Once you've done that I'll tell you the next task."

Damian nodded enthusiastically, then set himself to carefully tracing the chess pieces from memory so he could cut them out. He loved Transfiguration class, even on the usual days, but he just knew today was going to be one of his favorite lessons ever.

    J. J. smiled and put quill to parchment. This seemed easy enough so far - she figured that would change though.

She took great care drawing each peice. She wasn't a very skill artist - Zach liked to say it was as bad as her cooking - but she was very much a perfectionist about it.

After a - some would say painfully - longtime she deemed her creations exceptiable and began being just as carefull about cutting them out.
