    A Random Social Event

Ophelia sulked around the room, as she glared at the boring old stuffed shirts her parents were making her spend time with. Abe didn't have to be here - granted he was probably to busy with his wife. Ophelia still didn't like that relationship. She still needed to get Kyra - no sorry Ksenia - to talk to her, again. Maybe she should have kept her yapp shut last time... but then again, when was Ophelia ever good at keeping her mouth shut?

She didn't back down, and she did things her own way.

God, she thought as the bad started to strike up some pompous classical music, Couldn't they at least play something with some life?

It was she asked that to her self, some stingy - read creepy - old man came over to ask her for a dance. Ophelia grimanced and looked over at her parents.

God she wanted to say - As if! - but she knew her parents would crusify her if she snubbed this old man in front of all their friends. She needed a ledgitimate out, and right now, she did not have one.

Artemis walked into the room, his twin was the one who dragged him to this. And then he left him when he seen a women to dance with. Sometimes he thought that his twin needs to think straight. But he then noticed a women standing in the corner and notice how beautiful she was. He had no idea why he never noticed her before. Artemis the slowly started to walk over to her.

He was thinking about things that he could say. Artemis was one of those guys who used cheezy pickup lines. He knew that he was going to ask her to dance. But he noticed that she was dancing with an older man and wasn't enjoying it. After he walked over, he looked at him.

“ I think she promised that she would dance with me, and I am sure that you won't mind letting me have my dance.”

Phillie was grudgingly letting the old man take her hand when wonders of wonders would appear, but a - Ophelia had to admit with an appriciative glance - rather attractive young man, claiming that She had already promised him a dance.

Well of course, she had done no such thing, but here she was looking for an out, and a good looking one walked right up to her and gave her one.

"Oh I am so sorry," she gave the old man a wide-eyed look. "I had completely forgotten. Would you mind so much? Find me later," she gave the man a sweet smile before he turned around and she shot the haughty look she had wanted to give him the whole time.

Then replacing it with a smirking smile she took the boys hand and dragged him out to the dance floor.

"So, now, " she tilted her head. "I promised you a dance did I? I think I'd remember that but... lets say I didn't - who do I get to give my infinite thanks to, for not having to dance with Baron Von Oldington?"

Artemis was finally noticed that she was even more beautiful up close. He just smiled as he watched her. Artemis could tell that she was grateful that he was able to help her. And he felt just the same. She look even more beautiful, which took his breathe away.

He could tell that she was only looking for a way out. But he couldn't blame her, because he would have done the same thing to.

Artemis was being dragged out on the dance floor, he really didn't mind. He knew that he wasn't the best dancer.

He then was grinning. “ Artemis Capult.”

"Artemis Capulet, eh?" she smiled grabbing his hand, and using her own to place his other one on her waist. Once that was done, she placed her now free hand on his shoulder, and with a tilt of her head, she smirked, "Now isn't that just ... a conicidence. Montague, Ophelia."

She raised an eyebrow, "Dance much Artemis? You know, its the man's job to lead us here. Are you going to be man enough to lead, or am I going to have to?"

He smirked when he heard her name. “ It is my pleasure to dance with you Ophelia Montague.” Growing up he remember his father talk about their family. But at this moment he really didn’t' care. He had this angel all to himself.

Artemis remember when he had to help teach his sisters how to dance. How he hated every minute of it. But he wasn't about ready to let anybody show him up. He then listened to the music trying to find the beat of it. It sounded like a waltz, Artemis then started to waltz. And he knew that Ophelia would have to follow.

"Of course it's a pleasure," Phillie laughed, completely at easy, and as always outwardly full of herself, "However, your not so bad your self Arty."

She tilted her head and made a little sound of admiration as he started to lead her in the Waltz. Being raised in an aristocratic Prueblood family as herself - and frequanting these lame events often - Ophelia could follow his lead with ease.

"A man who knows how to dance," she tilted her head, "I can admire that. What other qualities do you possess, Artemis Capulet?"

“ I can see that we think the same way Phillie.” He grinned, Artemis could tell that he could just be himself around her. Which he enjoyed.

He then decided to twirl her but then went right back into the waltz. Artemis was glad that he paid attention to all of those lessons. Even thought at the time he thought they were useless.

“ I have two little sisters, and someone had to teach them. I am sure my twin wouldn't have enough patience with them. But enough about me, I want to know more about you. You remind me of an angel.”

Ophelia twirled gracefully, letting her hair, and skirt fly about her as she came, in smirking in responce, and enjoying the little flair to the usually dull dance.

"Ooo, changing things up I see. I like it."

"Two sisters and a twin? All I have is an older brother," she continued to smirk and shook her head, flouncing out her hair. "I think you have me beat on that."

Then she couldn't help but laugh out right.

"Me? An angel?" the thought was amusing. "I don't think I can be much of an angel," then an idea came to her, and smirking she went up on her tip toes to whisper in his ear, " Unless I'm a fallen one."

He grinned as Artemis was watching her. He loved how she looked and didn't want this dance to end. “ I had to change it up, I wouldn't want you to get bored and leave to go dance with another man.”

“ It seems that my parents wanted to have a large family.” But he was smirking. “ But my little sister is the one who cares about me the most.” Artemis then noticed that she was laughing.

Artemis was holding her close as they was dancing. “ But you are an angel to me.” He didn't know what to say when she said she was a fallen angel. But he then started to smirk. “ Then what does that make me if I am here with a fallen angel.”

"Well, at least you have a wide variety to chose from. My brothers just an ass, and I don't get a replacement."

Ophelia wiggled closer and kissed him on a the cheek, "Well aren't you sweet."

She leaned back a bit, and smirked at him.

"Well," she drawled slowly, absentmindedly running her hand along his shoulder blade, "You could either be in big trouble, or very lucky, maybe you're both?"

Artemis grinned. “ I am glad that you think that I am interesting now.” Right now he thought of himself as a lucky guy.

He then started to laugh. “ I have a twin who is an alcoholic and a sister who is a stuck up snobs who thinks she is better than everybody else. Then I have my youngest sister he is sweet still.”

Artemis found that he was extremely lucky that she kissed him on the cheek. He loved how she called him sweet.

"Well you should be warned that I find everybody interesting for the first hour," she gave a smirk, "Whether you get to stay so I guess depends on you."

Ophelia smiled and him, her eyes flashing a slightly bitter light, making the smile seem all the more sureal on her face, "Ah, I'm sure I could beat that, but let's not talk about Abe - he'll just ruin the night." Like he's ruining Kyra- Nia's- life?

"Well then," she said, snuggling closer, and ducking her head into his shoulder as the twirled, aware that she was technically ruining proper Waltz form, but not caring, she was enjoying herself immensely. "I'd say you're braver than you look then, Artemis Capulet."

“ Do you think you would find me interesting after an hour?” He grinned. “ If only I could stop time, just to stay with you.” Artemis knew that sounded corny, but he was used to girls telling him that. But that didn’t' stop him from using it.

Artemis looked at her eyes and couldn't help but look into them. He just noticed how they look and he could get lost in her eyes. “ Let's not talk about our siblings. We will only try to out do each other, and I don't want to start a fight. And I don't want to ruin this perfect night with you.”

He then brought her closer to him. Artemis was enjoying this moment. He didn't care if the Waltz form was technically right. But it was like he was holding her. “ I would love to know what you mean by that ?”

Ophelia snorted and shook his head. Oh lord, that was probably one of the most sappy, romantic things she had ever heard - so why did she like it so much?

"I don't know, you seem to be doing okay right now."

She tilted her head, and nodded, "Its perfect, eh? Well that definitly means Abe hasn't made an appearance."

Ophelia closer her eyes as he spoke, listening to his voice.

"What do I mean?" she asked in a soft voice, losing a bit of her bravo for a moment; just for a moment not hiding behind her, 'as long as I'm having fun I'm better than you' shell, "I'm not good for anyone. I told you - I'm fallen."

Artemis could tell that she was liking that. So he wasn't doing too bad, but he knew that he had to keep it up. He then decided to use a quote from Romeo and Juliet.

“But soft, what light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.
Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon,
Who is already sick and pale with grief
That thou, her maid, art far more fair than she. . . .
The brightness of her cheek would shame those stars
As daylight doth a lamp; her eye in heaven
Would through the airy region stream so bright
That birds would sing and think it were not night.”
He then was watching to see what she would do. “ It is perfect because none of my brother or sisters are here.”

“ You are good, you are good for me.”

She tilted her head, and her smirk softened into a smile as he started quoting a play - not just any play, the play of love. Romeo and Juliet.

Wasn't this all the crud that she had told Tessa was overrated? That nobody looked past. And yet.

She shook his head, and kissed his cheek again, "You. Are. A. Horrible. Complete. Sap. But sweet, too sweet for me."

The song ended, and she grudgingly took a step away, she let her hands fall at her side, and she just looked at Artemis for a long moment.

"You barely know me. How can you know I'd be good for you?" she gave him a sad smile before shaking her head. "I can promise you I wouldn't be good for you. I wouldn't be good for anyone."

Ophilie shook her head, her hair spraying out around her and gave an breathy little laugh, "I think that's supposed to be my line."

She was just covering up for herself... because she felt like, maybe... well it was true, she did want him, and - she was pretty sure that scared her.

After hesitating a moment, she reached back over grabbed his hand, and started pulling him through the crowd.

"I think that you're judgement may be off on this one," she said, "But if you're really commited to this opinnion..."

Ophilia rolled her eyes. There was really no point in commenting at this point. They both knew that she did.

"Will you just zip it," she shot back at him with a grin, as she broke free of the dance floor, glanced over each shoulder before slipping into a room that was off the side.

It was a small sitting room, darkened from not used. Phillie didn't bother turning on the lights, what was the point? There was enough moonlight filtering through the windows to see by anyways.

Letting go of Artemus's hand she flounced over the the small loveseat by the window.

"Well then, if you're really commited, take a seat."

Phillie leaned back against the back of the couch, flipping up her hair, so that it flowed down and over the back, swaying just above the floor. She closed her eyes for the moment, and pulled on her skirt, trying to keep it from riding up.

"You're going to regret this you know," she siad softly, a small smile pulling at her lips despite what she was saying. "You may not realize it now, but... I know me - you're going to regret this."

“ I don' think that I will regret this.” He smiled, he really didn't know what she meant by I know me part. But he knew that it would all be explained.

Phillie cracked open an eye and just looked at him, a smirk pulling up. She would give up on warning him, for now. She had tried her best - whatever happened from here... no one could say she hadn't tried.

"Oh really?" she asked pulling her feet onto the loveseat, taking up space so she was now using Aretmis more or less as a foot rest. "What a family you seem to lead Mr. Capulet. Do I want to know what kind of something?"

"Well I guess I owe you a secret now, don't I? Its really only fair."
