Don't Talk To Strangers (Open)

J. J. sat at the end of the table not eating, just poking at her food. She was - for once - completely ignorant of what was going on around her.

She was so, so tired - and completely not hungry. She was never hungry any more, and she couldn't sleep.

Although right now, she felt like she was going to do so. The first day of classes again had been more effort than she thought it would.

She felt as if there was a pound behind her eyes; perhaps her head would explode... that seemed like a better option that the present.

Still...

The girl continued to poke at her dinner, moving it artfully around her plate, as her head slowly leaned more and more forward and eyes drifted shut.

Alex walked into the great hall and was walking to the Slytherin table when she saw a J.J falling asleep. Alex walked over to her. "You no your head is almost in your food right" Alex asked.

J. J. pretty much asleep where she sat, awoke with a violent start at the sound of the voice, banging her legs painfully on the underside of the table, letting out an odd sort of screech, and knocking her full plate of food over off the table spraying it all over herself and the seat around her.

She looked at the mess mournfully, her heart still beating wildly before turning a wide eyed stare to the speaker.

She took a couple calming breath before she could give Alex a shakey half nod as she fruitlessly waved her hand over the mess she made trying to brush it off but really only making it worse.

Alex started to apologize. "I'm so sorry J.J, but are you okay you don't look good" Alex asked a little worried for J.J.

J. J. sighed and gave up on the mess. It wasn't like she really cared anyways.

She looked up at the girl and nodded. Of course was fine. Didn't she look fine? she could hear the little bitter voice in her head.

She really was starting to hate that phrase - are you okay.

But she didn't want Alex to feel bad. It wasn't like it was her fault that she startled at everything that moved.

So shrugging she picked up a hand, patted her arm and attempted to smile, hoping the message of 'it's okay' would come across.
