Lesson Four - 3rd Years Empty Lesson Four - 3rd Years

Post by Edith Miller Tue Feb 21, 2012 1:50 pm

Edith entered the classroom, she walked up to the front of the desk and placed down her books. She was slightly pleased about returning to teaching after so long having recently done her PhD in Defensive Spells she felt confident this should be a good lesson

Edith then flicked her wand at the board, writing suddenly began to appear it read "Body Binding Charm" Edith then glanced up at the clock behind her and saw to it was anohter few minutes until the lesson started, she hoped the students would be on time, however she had heard the most of the professors who taught this class had been some what absent, resulting in students no bothering to show up

Riley plodded up to Defense, humming some Muggle song to herself. She had her wand at her side, as it really was quite inconvenient to have to find it for every class. She smiled at the teacher and gave a cheerful,'"Hello, Professor!" before doing a double take. That wasn't...Riley shook the thought. Best to not let her mind be consumed by petty thoughts.

Iris was surprised to see a new Professor as she entered the class. Then again, most of the teachers never stayed for that long anyway. "Good day Professor," she greeted and took a seat next to the other student. "Hey, I'm Iris." She introduced herself with a grin.

Damian wandered into Defense class, taking in the new professor with a cursory glance about the room. Seating himself near the front, he drew out his textbook and class supplies, waiting patiently for class to begin.

Anna rolled her eyes when she saw the new Professor out of the corner of her eye. The turnaround of Professors was an ordinary thing now, but this one was... old. She sat next to Grayson and smirked when she saw what they were going to learn. Merlin, this was going to be fun.

Edith nodded at the students which entered the classroom, she then glanced up at the clock on the wall and noticed that the lesson was due to start. Even though she only had four students, she had to start and perhaps more students would wonder in soon

" Hello class I am Professor Miller, today we will be learning about the body binding charm. This charm can prove to be very useful when you are trying to escape someone who perhaps is doing you ill harm, espcially if you feel your combat skills are lower than theres" Edith then pulled out her wand

" To cast the spell you hold your wand out as such then give it two firm flciks and say the incantation Petrificus Totalus, in order to cast the spell correctly you MUST ensure your wand is held firmly"

Edith then looked around the class " Now I will pair you into groups of two to practice this charm, you will cast it on each other the spells effect wears off after a three minutes, so once one of you have cast it on the other and spell wears of the other person will cast it on you"

Edith then tapped her finger on the side of her cheek while she thought " Ok so lets have Mr Gray and Miss Tshering together and Miss Grayson and Miss Skander together please"

Anna nearly fell on the floor when she heard that she was going to be partnered up with Damian, out of all people. She didn't mind the other Ravenclaw albeit the fact that she was more than a little crazy, and Grayson would have been her partner of choice - she didn't even mind getting partnered up with a ghost, but she got Damian, and she had to make the best of it. She stood up, walked over to the Hufflepuff boy and sat on the chair next to him, keeping a distance. "Um... who goes first?" she asked.

Damian felt the lesson was straight-forward enough. The body binding charm was far from the most complicated spell he had or would learn.

He glanced up at the Ravenclaw he had been paired with. He knew the girl from classes, of course, but they didn't actually interact, so he didn't know anything about her. The boy shrugged at her question.

"I don't care," he replied. "You can, if you want."

Riley smiled at Iris-she hadn't really ever talked to the Gryffindor. She walked over to her. "Hey," she said, kind of awkwardly. "I'm Riley. So...whenever you're ready," she grinned sheepishly. Apparently, no matter how old and crazy she was, she was still always going to be socially awkward.
