Transfiguration - 2nd Year (Lesson 2)

Hedgehog to Pincusion

This spell turns Hedgehogs into Pincusions. Students will be required to carefully pick up a hedgehog from the cage at the front of the room. They then must aim their wand at the hedgehog and with one sharp flick they must say the incantation "Erinaceus pulvinus". Students must take great care in ensuring that they pronounce the incantation clearly or the result will a half transfigured hedgehog

To reverse the spell, the students must now aim their wand at pincushion and swish their wand in an anticlockwise direction, while visulizing the pincushion turning back into a hedgehog

"Stupid hedgehog," Charlotte muttered as she tried, for the fourth time, to pick up hers, but her efforts were of no avail - the little creature was set on running from her whenever she tried. "Aha!" she exclaimed with a smile as a brave one finally came towards her hands, "It's alright little buddy, I won't hurt you."

She realized, moments later, that was a lie - she was about to turn him into a pincushion. Deciding to wait until someone else arrived to then transfigure him, or at least attempt to, she sat at her desk and played with her new friend.
