    Matchstick to Axe

This spell is similar to the one practiced in first year transfiguration, except far more complex as for the student will be transfiguring the match into an axe instead of a needle. To cast this spell the student must swipe their wand to the right while saying the incantation "Exaequet Telum", the prounacation of the incantation was be clear or else the result will be a half transfigured match

To reverse this spell, the student must hold their wand firmly then swish it twice in an anti clockwise direction while visualizing the axe turning back into a match

Mars took a seat at the class and listened while the professor talked. Turning a matchstick into an axe sounded a lot more useful than turning it into a needle. He was not a house wife, why would he need to make needles?

He slouched in his chair while repeated the wand movement and practised the incantation. Picking up his matchstick he focused on getting the spell right in as few tries as possible, which he did. He admired the axe he had made with a grin, then reversed the spell. Mars continued to practise casting and reversing the spell until he could do so flawlessly on the first attempt.

Hyun had never really had much thought in transfiguration, considering he never knew about it. Yes, this was really his first time in a classroom to study magic. He would probably have more trouble than the other students, seeing as it was his first time, but he was determined to do well. He listened to the professor, who he had learnt was also one of the house heads. He made it a point to learn as much as he could about the grounds and the staff before he got there, so that he wasn't too confused.

After the professor's speech, he nodded to himself and picked up his wand. It was a good wand, sturdy and dependable, and deep down he hoped it would help him do well in the school. The fingers of his free hand fiddled with the box of matches, eyeing them curiously. "Could you really turn it into an axe?" He spoke quietly, to himself, not thinking if the others heard him or not.

He would wave his wand, or swipe rather several times, making sure that he had the right movement. Afterward, he set the wand down and spoke the incantation. "Exaequet Telum, Exaequet Telum, Exaequet Telum." He spoke the words under his breath, repeatedly. They weren't too hard, but his accent may have made it sound funny.

After several minutes of practicing, he picked up his wand and tried seriously this time. If it went well, he would have a perfect axe, if it went wrong...well, no point it dwelling. Clearing his throat, Hyun swiped his wand and spoke loudly, though only just for him to hear. "Exaequet Telum." He closed one eye and peeked out with the other, watching as the simple matchbox formed into an axe. It wasn't perfect, of course, the blade looked bent out of shape and as if it was about to fall off. "Not bad for my first try. I guess." Hyun smiled faintly, proud that he had managed to even get that much, picking up the axe and studying it.

Arsen sighed, school never had been his favourite way to pass time and now in his current state he just found himself finding it more and more pointless. He couldn't help but feel sorry for himself, not that he would ever admit that to anyone. 'Would you quit messing around and get me to class before i make you a charred puppy!' He moaned sending the thought to the puppy that ran ahead of him excitedly.

He had no intention of taking part of todays class. Why should he? It wasn't like he could aim a wand at someone to hit them so what was the point in learning all these spells anymore? School just seemed like one pointless task to him now and if anyone were to ask him why he was here he honestly could give you an honest answer. Silently, following the quiet steps of Boias feet he entered the classroom and stumbled awkwardly into his seat. So far he had picked up 3 scents, the professor, Mars and someone he'd not yet come to meet.

Reaching out a hand he caught what appeared to be an axe on his desk and pulled it onto his lap so he could lift his legs up onto the top. He might as well make himself comfortable it was a long time to be doing nothing so he slid back into his seat and pushed his sunglasses further up his nose and closed his eyes. Sleeping whether he was able to or not was the best way to get people to leave him alone.
