    Girding Potion

Here we are again, it's nice to see all of you. What we will be working on, well it's on the board behind me. The Girding Potion. Do you have an upcoming quidditch game? Perhaps only having a friendly competition with friends, or a not so friendly one with your rivals? This is exactly what you need. It's a very simple potion really, and it only does one thing. What is that you ask? That's easy, it boosts your endurance. Yes, you can have phenomenal endurance that can last for weeks? I myself have used it for....Oh, that's not the proper discussion to have in front of children, forgive me. The ingredients are found on page ninety of your books.

    Dragonfly Thoraxes

    Fairy Wings

    Flying Seahorses

    Doxy Eggs

Now, I must warn you that if you ever make this potion, not to take more than two vials. The results are disastrous and....well it's rather gruesome when it comes down to it. Alright, let's get to work! Add your jar of Dragonfly Thoraxes and stir it six times clockwise. Your heat should be set to medium for this. Add the two fairy wings next, along with five of the flying seahorses. Turn your heat up to the highest, and stir counterclockwise for exactly nine minutes. Do not stop stirring. Finally, you will take three of the doxy eggs provided, and dump them in. Leave it on low to simmer for five minutes, tap it with your wand, and you should have your potion.

If you listened to my instructions precisely, you'll have a golden liquid in your cauldron, which will be used on some hamsters running a wheel. This will be done to see if they have the endurance required, or if they collapse and die. Fun, fun!

The Slytherin flicked open his textbook to the right page, nodding curtly once he read the instructions. He wasn't much cop at potions - or any other subject, for that matter - but the least he could do was finish today's lesson.

Instead of taking the Dragonfly Thoraxes like he was supposed to, he took the Bee Thoraxes. To the boy's misfortune, he had only discovered his fatal mistake once she had stirred the water in the cauldron. His eyes widened, his lip quivering, crying out in a terrified manner.

    He was so, so screwed.

Valerie walked into the classroom and saw Timothy there. She mentally groaned and went and took a seat at an empty table. She pulled out her potions book and searched for the potion she had to brew. She added her jar of dragonfly thoraxes and stirred the unfinished potion six times clockwise. She made sure the heat was on medium. Valerie picked up two fairy wings and added them to her cauldron and she repeated the process with the five flying seahorses. She put her heat on high and stirred counter clockwise for nine minutes. When the minutes came to an end she added three doxy eggs and placed them in her cauldron.

She put it on low so it could simmer for the next five minutes. She kept her eyes on the clock until the five minutes was over. She tapped her wand tip to the cauldron and watched as the liquid changed. Valerie looked at Timothy. "Need help" she asked.

Bridget walked into the class and instantly saw Valerie and some other boy there. She remembered he came in the middle of last semester. Bridget grabbed a seat close to Valerie's. She got out her book and looked up the potion that she would have to make. She wasn't really good at this class, so fingers cross, she'll get it.

Bridget added her jar of dragon fly thoraxes and stirred it six time counterclock wise. So far, off to a good start. She turned the heat to medium. She than added two fairy wings along with five flying seahorses. Bridge turned the heat up and stirred counterclock wise for nine minutes. When those long and painful minutes were up she grabbed the final ingredient which was doxy eggs, she added three of them and put them into her cauldron. She lowered the heat so it could simmer for five minutes. She took her wand and tapped her wand and she looked into the cauldron. She actually did it. She was satistfied.

Robin ran into the room, hoping she wasn't late. She sat down, somewhere, not paying attention, but it happened to be near Timothy. She inwardly groaned.

After glancing at the teacher for a moment, she looked at the board, and flicked to the right page on her textbook.

Add your jar of Dragon Thoraxes and stir 6 times clockwise. Your heat should be set to medium for this. She read.

She dimmed the heat slightly, and dipped in the dragon thoraxes, then she stirred as was told.

Add the two fairy wings next, along with five of the flying seahorses. Turn your heat up to the highest, and stir counterclockwise for exactly nine minutes. Do not stop stirring. She read again.

She made the heat go highest and dropped the fairy wings and flying seahorses. She then stirred clockwise for ten minutes. Her eyes widened in horror when she realized what she did.

    "Oh crap," She muttered.
