They Call Me Princess Empty They Call Me Princess

Post by Harmonie de Venin Sat Jan 05, 2013 9:35 pm

Harmonie's summer daytime consisted mainly of her sleeping; occasionally leaving the house as a consequence of the niggling worry that she was slowly, but steadily, becoming a recluse. Brief walks- perhaps even sparing a few hours of her time to draw in a stranger, have them entertain her with conversation.

Nighttime, however, was an entirely different story. The Prideux seemed to have become nocturnal over the past year; first, it was merely because of her nightmares. They would keep her up, and she'd learned to sleep during the day. Clubbing had become something to pass the time.

Admittedly, when she'd started her new hobby, she hadn't anticipated that she'd be there at least 5 times a week. She'd become familiar with the staff; knew the other regulars. And now- she was completely comfortable, and quite willing, dancing on top of the bar.

Harmonie flashed a devilish smile at her audience, her tongue caught in between her teeth as she grinned at them- it looked playful; verging on almost childish. She needed this- she needed attention. She had no idea why- barely understood what she wanted from it, but she just did. And 'Lights Down Low' seemed to be helping her get it.

( look at Harm dance now; this is the whole reason I made this thread like this )

It was rare for Alec to spend a whole day at home, now. In fact, he avoided it more than ever. It got pretty tiring after a while, to watch his father go through girls like he was sixteen again. More than tiring, it was just gross.

Couldn't he at least respect the fact that he still had a wife, at least in paper? Or that his two kids were living with him?

Apparently, not. If he wanted to prove a point, or just move on, Alec didn't know. Actually, he couldn't care less what his reasons were. While he didn't hate him yet, being in the same room as the man for too long only led to arguments and slamming doors.

It was after one of those that he found himself inside Moulin Rouge. It had been a while since his last visit. And, much to the Prideux's dismay, he realized his father had been with more girls in the past month than he had. This is fucked up, he thought as he made his way to the bar. He'd have to change that, and the sexy brunette dancing on top of the bar could be a start.

It was only when he got closer, however, that he realized he knew that face. "De Venin," he greeted, a smirk on his face as he sat down on one stool, "I'm surprised, you've got some moves. Not that I'm complaining, the view from here is wonderful."

Harmonie glanced in the direction of her fellow Prideux, deliberating whether or not to stop dancing. She'd danced enough so that she now had a light sheen of sweat over her; which was the same for anyone who'd been dancing in the overly crowded club. She supposed it'd do her some good to get a drink, and Blanchard had never failed to provide an entertaining conversation in the past.

Her dance came to a slow, and unexpected from most of her audience, halt. She hadn't bothered to finish her move; just allowed her arms to relax, and rolled her neck lazily, before strolling down the bar to reach the boy. And much to her satisfaction, there were loud complaints from the group of people- predominantly men- around her. Moulin Rouge really did do wonders for her confidence. Not that she needed much help with it, in the first place.

"Blanchard." She greeted, one eyebrow raised, as she sat cross-legged on the bar in front of him. She was hardly worried about being kicked off- she knew the staff. And Harmonie was particularly well acquainted with the bar tender.

"Don't be so surprised, Alec." Harmonie tutted lowly, shaking her head. "It's almost insulting."

The witch regarded him in silence for a moment, as if sizing him up. "Do you dance?" She raised an eyebrow at him, her tone challenging.

Alec rolled his eyes at the boys' complaints, but was somewhat understanding. He'd be annoyed if he was one of them, but, luckily, it wasn't the case that night.

He briefly wondered if she'd object to doing that again in Beauxbatons, it wasn't like she seemed shy or uncomfortable about it. Much to the contrary, she looked almost at home.

No ulterior motives, only that she danced pretty damn well.

Or, okay, maybe she also looked pretty hot doing it.

"Forgive me, then. I'll buy you a drink to make it up," he offered, asking the bartender for the best one he had. He tugged at his navy blue polo shirt and glanced back up at the girl, "So, what brings you to dancing on top of bars? New hobby?"

He snorted, "Badly." He was not afraid to admit this one little flaw of his, after all, it was one of the only ones. Or so his ego liked to make him think.

"Though, I suppose I could try."

Harmonie watched her fellow Prideux carefully for a moment, eyeing him up. She was not able to recall a particular occasion when they'd both spent that much time together; which was odd, considering they both ran in the same type of circles. Evidently, in school and outside of school. Her lips slipped into an accidental coy smirk at the thought. This place would be as good as any other to get to know another person.

No, boundaries were important. Alec was a classmate, and she had to have some rules.

Rules were always so boring, though.

"Sort of." She sobered up a bit at his question. "More of a stress-reliever, actually." Harmonie added wryly, catching the drink that had been slid across the bar towards her with her left hand, and downed it quickly. Shaking off any grip of reality that had briefly taken hold of her, the girl leaned lower towards the boy, and took her legs from beneath her and placed them on either side of his stool. "And exactly what are you doing gawking at girls dancing on top of bars?" She raised an eyebrow at him.

"So then, what will it be? Bar," Harm jerked her head towards the spot which she had been dancing in moments before, "Or the floor?"
