    Throwing Stones Empty Throwing Stones

Post by Scarlett Moore Sat Feb 02, 2013 9:40 pm

Scarlett stood at the edge of the lake, standing knee deep in the water. Her shoes and sweater were on the ground somewhere behind her, and as she stood in the cool water, her skirt floated around her legs revealing a little of her shorts underneath.

The young Ravenclaw stared at the pile of rocks in the palm of her hand and smiled. They were the perfect stones for throwing and skipping across the still surface of the lake. Picking one up she took her position and flicked the grey stone and watched as it did three little skips across the water.

"Yes!" she called out, happily not caring about those who stared at her. Picking up another, this time it was a pink stone, with bits of grey swirled within it. Scarlett briefly admired the stone, before tossing it across the water as well.

She watched once more as it did only two skips across the surface. "Hmm...two out of three!" she said loudly with a nod of her head. As she leaned back this time, preparing herself to throw the next rock, her foot somehow managed to get stuck underneath something in the lake, and the Ravenclaw fell backwards with a splash.

Scarlett laughed hysterically as she lay back in the water and stared up at the sky. She didn't mind being wet, and her clothes were dark enough that they wouldn't show anything if she stood up. "Thank goodness I didn't wear white today." she giggled as she stood up and made her way back to her shoes.

As she walked, she noticed a bunch of people staring at her, snickering and even glaring. Rolling her eyes, she sat on a bed of grass and waited to dry off.
