The Sun's Too Bright ll OPEN

Anna knew she had to pull everything together. She couldn't, though. Her heart was beating so fast for such unnatural reasons she could barely even think about what she had to face. Her eyes were flicking all across the place: left 'til her favourite hedge, right 'til her favourite tree, at the big blue sky, and at the concrete ground.

Anna wanted to cover her face with her hat, so she did. For some reason, the sun had seemed much too bright recently. Now that her hat was on her, she could look up at the sky and feel calm, and continued to drink her bottle of water as she sat quietly on the concrete.

Jet was walking in the entrance hall when he noticed the girl. "Why are you on the floor?" He asked. He came and stood beside her, the sunlight showing through his black hair and highlighting his blue eyes. "Are you alright?" Did he care? Not really, but hey, conversation, at Hogwarts, with someone he didn't know. Might as well make an ally friend! He meant Friend! Yes that was it. He needed some of those.

Anna looked up at the boy. She wasn't sure why she was sitting on the floor, really. Maybe she had forgotten. Or those piercing blue eyes just made her want to be honest. She had always had a weakness for people's eyes, as ugly as they may be.

"I like looking at the sky," she replied. "It calms me."

Anna then poured some water into a cup in her pocket she had kept for safekeeping and asked, "Would you like some water?"
