Star Light, Star Bright

J. J. hummed to herself as she walked up to the tower supressing a slight yawn as she did so. Her robes were freshly presshed and her hair was twined back into a neat braid. She was ready to learn.

Of course that be able to go only so far. She enver could tell her moods anymore - they were swinging on the drop of a coin.

Dropping her bag on the floor she huntched in her seat and waited for something to begin.

Alexander walks to astronomy. He smiles at J.J. She seemed nice enough. but then again he didnt really known her so he merely waves and sits down. "how are you this afternoon?" he opens a noveel and starts to read

Aragorn crept up the stairs, his feet hitting the landing and carrying him over to the edge. He set his arms down on the railing and looked up at the sky, "You two heard about that girl who died?"

A flush crept across his tan cheeks as he smiled nervously, "Wow sorry.. that was a weird way to say hello."

Casey ran up the stairs to the Astronomy Tower, a feat that was harder than it looked with so many steps. She arrived at the top of the Tower flushed and panting a little, but glad she could do it. She'd slacked off with her exercising lately. "Hey Alex!" she greeted, skipping over cheerily. "Hi J.J. and kid-who-is-friends-with-Alex! I don't remember your name, sorry."

Aragorn smiled easily and shook his head, relaxing again, "Yeah... Hey Casey. It's Aragorn. Just... think of Lord of the Rings and you've got my name on the tip of your tongue." He looked back down at the railing and sighed, still regretting talking about the suicide of the gryffie. That was a great... GREAT way to say hello.

J. J.'s eyebrows furrowed, "A girl who...?"

She hadn't been aware of this fact... or if she had she must have forgotten about it - possibly had written it off as idle gossip, or some other thing. She had a lot to deal with in her head half the time without adding all that into the mix.

Alexander trembles slightly at the mention. He was the one who found her. he didnt likr to think about it much. "yes hi aragorn and hello casey" he gives a small laugh. "so were all in astronomy again, thats good to know..."

Alex walked into class and saw J.J, Casey, and Alexander. She didn't no the other boy's name. "Hey J.J, Alexander, Casey, and I really never got your name" Alex looked at him trying to think of his name but she never met him before, she saw him around but never met. Alex took an empty seat. "So what were you all talking about" Alex asked curious.

"Victoria... Or something. A Gryffie. No ones heard about it?" He asked, surprise overcoming him a he turned and looked at the one who'd asked, J. J. At least he thought that was her house. He glanced up at the new comer and waved slightly, "Aragorn." He paused and asked, "And you are?"

Alexander raises a hand slightly. "i f-found her..." he looks down slightly. death seemed to follow him. he hated it. his parents, his uncle, and now some innocent girl. why did he have to find her?

Casey sucked in a breath. "No, I hadn't heard," she said quietly. "Does anyone know who it was?" She trembled a little to think about her Gryffindor friends.

When Alex said he'd found her, Casey put an arm around his shoulders. He looked like he needed the reassurance. "It's not your fault," she said quietly, so only he could hear. "I know what you're thinking, but it wasn't you."

He looks away so nobody can see the tears streaming down his face. the death had been haunting him. He couldn't sleep,eat or do anything much. his grades had slipped since he found her. it brought horrible memories flooding back to his head. sure it was easy to fake a smile and laughter, he had perfected it as a child, when teachers in muggle school asked him about bruises and such.. he felt bad for not telling anyone of his close firends but he couldn't bring himself to do it, no matter how badly he wanted to.

Casey saw Alex's tears, despite how he tried to hide them, and dug in her pocket for a tissue. "Hey, it's ok," she whispered to him. "It's not your fault, there was nothing you could do, and it's not wrong to feel sad. But please don't sink back into your shell again. I just got you out."

He forces himself to stop. One of his talents. he smiles fakely up at her sending fake happyness to her. "thanks casey, i think ill be ok." sarcasm starts to drip from his voice the deamon was starting to surface. "i mean whats another death? ive witnessed so many. i start to confuse how each of them died with another cause."

Casey growled under her breath. Stupd demon. Putting her hands on Alex's in a move that was becoming routine, she fought the demon back into a corner of his mind. It was easier this time, though she wasn't sure if that was because Ragnarok wasn't fully out or because she was getting better at it. "Better?" she asked. "At least a little? And do I even need to tell you again that it's not your fault? You did not cause a single one of those deaths."

He nods slightly but he stilll seems out of it. He sighs and smiles tiredly and sadly at her. "yeah you helped a lot. thanks..." he opens his book again and starts to read or pretend to read. he is really looking around the room. she died here.... the air seems heavy on his shoulders.

Colin waltzed into his classroom, frowning only slightly at the air that was around the students, they did not seem to be a jovial as students tended to be.

Instead of focusing on that atmosphere - he did not believe he was qualified to help with serious problems, and besides would not attempt to approach them unless he was approached first - he started right in on his lesson.

"Mars, the red planet," Colin said in a clipped voice as he reached his desk, "Everyone give me one fact - please and thank you."

Casey patted Alex on the shoulder, then turned to face the Professor as he walked into the room. She raised her hand in response to his question. "It has a super thin atmosphere, which means it gets really cold at night and really hot in the daytime."

Alexander raises his hand and smirks "and lifeless, no life can last on that planet." he slumps over and trembles

Aragorn raised his hand a bit to respond as well, "It's the only planet whose surface can be seen from Earth, sir."

Alexander looks up at aragorn and smiles. he was smart. his friends were great and he was lucky to have them. maybe the memories didnt have to be horrible.. the world seems to lift off his shoulder a little bit

Quinn got to the classroom and found out she was late again. "I'm so sorry professor.... O'brian" Quinn said as she looked at her schedule. "I actually transferred here" Quinn really couldn't afford to get in trouble. She took a seat and waited for the professor to continue the lesson and hoped she knew what was happening.

alexander sighs and sends her a note. hey gryffie, dont get used to my help but were studying mars.-Alexander Bloodbayne he sighs and leans back and smiles.

"Thank you everyone, Ms. Jones, I am still waiting for an answer if you please," he smiled kindly at the girl from his own house.

"Mr. Bloodbayne, we'll actually be debating that today," he smiled kindly, "Although it is far too could for life as we think of it, humans, to survive there, there once was a time when the world was wondering if there could in fact be life on Mars."

Colin sighed heavily through his nose, "That doesn't mean you can't try to get to class on time Ms.Mikaelson; Please tell me a fact about Mars, and I may not remove house points."

J. J. looked up from her thoughts at the professors words.

"Oh, sorry sir," she tilted her head as she thought of something, "Err, well... in the early eighteen hundreds or something like that, some guy thought that he saw cannels in Mars or somethign through his telescope so everyone started thinking that there must be martians on the planet doing all that work."
