Lost ( Nyx)

Tessa new that she was in a different place, but she could tell that she was lost. Sometimes she knew that being lost was good, but in other times it was bad. And she didn't tell Ruby where she was going either. Everyday it seemed like Tessa was talking and getting to know more people. But there was part of her that was still shy.

" Oh how I wished I could be like other girls. Talk about boyfriends or how bad my make up looks." She then sighed, she realized that this was never going to happen. But she would keep reminding herself that she was a pretty girl. And just because she couldn't see it, doesn't mean it isn't there.

It wasn't her problem really, and she didn't know why she came to talk to a girl that looked lost, but something in her heart was telling her that she's doing the right thing. When Nyx approached her, she smiled warmly and tried to look as relaxed as possible.

"Hey, there", the girl started and became more brave, "is something wrong?"

Tessa then jump a little bit. She wasn't expecting anybody to find her. But she was kind of glad because she was lost. But she decided that maybe this girl could help her. Tessa smiled a little bit.

" Yeah I am a little bit lost."

"Do you know where you are going?" she asked her and looked around. "I got lost here a while ago, I was searching for my BS classroom but tumbled upon this hidden passage instead. Are you trying to go out?"

She couldn't believe how many suicidal people she has met in the last few days, all of them risking their safety and well being just for a moment or two of the outside world.

"I don't think it would be wise", she added, crossing her hands on her chest.

Seeing as Afonka wasn't allowed to go outside (well, technically there was nothing stopping him, but the threat of getting crownapped forced him to stay inside), he'd decided that exploring the school would be a good idea.

And he'd ended up somewhere. He was sure he was still in the school, but he had not the slightest idea where the passageway was heading. Oh well, exploring is much more fun when you have no idea where you're going.

Rounding a bend, he waved at the girls he found there, "Hiya Nyx and girl in my transfiguration class whose name I don't know!"

Tessa then started to blink. She knew his voice sounded familar. " I am Tessa Grey." Tessa had no idea where here was and knew that she wanted to get out. But it wasn't that easy for her. That was life for her, nothing was supposed to be easy.

Nodding as she introduced herself, he smiled, "I'm Afonka Alkaev,"

Stretching, he glanced around, "Are you guys lost?"

Tessa smiled. " Hello Afonka." She then took a couple of deeps breaths.

" I know I am, and I don't even know how I found this place."

Looking along the passageway, he sighed before grinning up at Tessa, "Yeah, I don't even know how I got here either. But it's pretty cool how there's this whole part of the school that people don't know about,"

Tessa laughed. " At least you can see where you are going and know how to get out." She then wondered if he would have picked up on what she had just said.

"Oh, I don't," He grinned, "I'm just walking around without the slightest clue where I'm going," Pausing, his brow furrowed, repeating her words again in his head, "You can't see?"

Tessa looked at Afonka. " Yes I can't see, because I am blind." She knew that she was going to have to explain. But she really stopped caring what people thought of her. If they didn't like her, well it was their lose.

"Oh," He said, quieting down for a moment. He didn't have the slightest idea of what to say to her, so Afonka walked up to her, and cautiously hugged her, "I'm sorry,"

Tessa smiled as she hugged him back. " Please you don't have to feel sorry for me. I have gotten used to being blind over the years."

Smiling at her, he shrugged, "I know, but I can't help it." Smiling, he added, "But there must be benefits to being blind. Your hearing would have to be matter than mine and Nyx's combined."

Tessa smiled. " I know, that is how everybody reacts. They think that they should feel sorry that I am blind." She then thought about it for a couple of seconds. " Not only hearing, but all my other sences too."

"Well then," He said, grinning at Tessa, "I'll have to be more unique and be -" Cutting himself off, he frowned. He couldn't say happy, as that would sound mean. Thinking for a moment, he finally settled on a word, " -and not feel sorry for you,"

Nodding, he said, his grin widening, "See? There's a positive side to everything."

Tessa smiled. “ I know what you mean by being unique. Being the only blind person in this whole school.” She was glad that he didn’t' feel sorry for her, because it was really nothing.

“ I have to think positive all the time. Because I have to and it does make my life easier.”

"Yeah," He said with a nod, "It must be hard to be the only blind person in the school," Brightening up, he grinned at her, "You can count on me to always be there,"

"Having a positive attitude is a thousand times easier than being negative. Life is just better and easier that way."

Tessa smiled. “ Yeah it is a little bit hard. But then I remember that there is always some one there for me to talk to.” She was glad that she found another person that she could consider as a friend. This made it a lot easier on her.

“ There is a saying that it is easier to smile because it takes less muscles, then to wear a frown. That is why I smile a lot.”

Grinning at her, he said, "I'll always be here for you if you need to talk,"

"Same," He said with a nod, "It takes effort to be angry all the time, while being happy is effortless."

Tessa smiled. " That is good to know, I know there is someone to listen to me when I need it."

" I have never heard that one before, but I think that I like it."

"Yep," He nodded, "I'll be your best friend if you want."

"Oh, I just made that up," He grinned, shrugging slightly, "But I do believe it's true."

" You would consider me a best friend?"

Tessa smiled at the thougt.

"Of course!" He grinned, "You Tess, are awesome."
