Personality: Belle is very quiet and doesn't like to speak to anyone. She isn't shy, on the contrary! She can be bold, but she just chooses not to. She also doesn't make friends very easily, thanks to her hostile nature.

Belle tries to be elegant, but since she's so thin and tall, she's very clumsy. She finds it hard to keep upright at times, which makes her feel awkward and sort of like a misfit. That only adds to her long list of worries, and since she is always paranoid that someone is judging her, she doesn't like to get out much.

Overall history: Belle's parents weren't expecting their eldest daughter, and thus when she was born her parents really didn't take a liking to her. Belle's very hostile nature made them not like her even more, and when they had another child Belle became a third wheel for the family. She ran away from home at the age of 7, and vowed never to return to the hellhole that had been her childhood.

A few weeks of living rough made Belle realize how important her family was, and when she started to make the long trek home, she overheard new of the deaths of the Ballards. The distraught girl ran the rest of the way to see if it was true, and once she saw the flamed remains of her home she saw it was true. She had a mental breakdown, and was lucky to be taken in by the Appleby family, who gave her a home and overall a decent life. But it wasn't enough.

Belle needed more, and she knew she could get it. It was almost selfish of her to want more than she had, since the people had been kind enough to let her stay with them. She ran away again and lived it rough, becoming almost fatally underweight. She was diagnosed as depressed, having post traumatic stress syndrome and refused to leave the house once she had been taken back to her foster parents' house. She nearly refused to go to Beauxbatons, but with a lot of encouragement she decided to give it a go.
