Aquatic love (OPEN)

With a slight pant Vincent slid to a stop at the edge of the Enchanted Lake, he jogged on the spot and swiftly casting his families spell he jogged onto the centre of the lake his feet resting firmly on the surface of the lake. He stretched his legs and arms he warmed up by doing three laps of the lake then returned to the centre.

He was all ready and began punching and kicking at the empty air, pushing himself to move quicker, step back dodge and retaliate to the invisible opponent in his mind. He was building up a sweat yet ignored it and continued.

After around 20 minutes he felt a slight ache in his muscles, he stopped and stood moving slightly as not to let his muscles relax too much, he would have a short rest before he resumed. It's a shame he had only ever shared this spell with one other student. He sighed and remembered his old friend.

Lynx flew towards the Enchanted lake, he found a grassy area and descended. He then got off his Silver Arrow broom and rested against a tree, he let out a sigh of frustration he had just come from a lunch with his mother, she was pressing him to get a real job instead of just working the odd shift in pubs, sure it had been three years since he graduated Hogwarts but he just didn't have an movtivation on what he wanted for his future

As Lynx went scanned around the lake he noticed a kid, probably not much older than 12 standing in the centre of the lake, Lynx looked at him with a puzzled looked Hows that possible, the only spell which comes close to that is Impervius, but that would only deflect the water away not allow someone to stand on itLynx thought to himself

Lynx stared at the kid for a while trying to make sense of how someone so young manged to do this

He felt cooled down enough and decided to continue, he punch rapidly in quick succession followed by a large jumping kick, he landed firmly on the water surface facing the nearest shore, he saw a boy.

He waved and jogged over, coming face to face with the man he bowed swiftly saying "Vincent Furtell, First Year Ravenclaw... cool huh?" he did a quick run on the surface of the water and smiled broadly, he loved this spell.

Lynx saw the boy running over towards him, he introduced himself and said that he was a Ravenclaw Huh a Ravenclaw, how typical he thought to himself

" Im Lynx Miller" Lynx said he then let out a small smile to be polite, he watched the kid race around on the lake and then return to standing in front of him " Yeah... it is cool. So what spell you using?" Lynx asked

He grinned wider "let me show you" his wand shot to his sweaty hand he aimed it at the man and said "Aquamoveo" the blue aura surrounded his body and faded, he took a few steps back and ushered for him to follow.

"It's a spell my family developed, very rare and it never gets old" he squatted and with great concentration reached his hand into the water cupping his hand he splashed himself in the face wiping away the sweat he stood and smiled, "go for it, Lynx"

Lynx flinched a little when Vincent cast the spell on him, the boy then gestured for Lynx to step onto the water. Lynx hesistated for a moment, he wasn't sure if this boy was playing a trick on him or being serious. He looked down at the water then back up at the boy " So help me Merlin if your lying to me kid" he said gruffly

Lynx took a breath in and placed one foot onto the water, he was shocked his foot didn't go through the water but rather rested on top like a feather or leaf, a smirk appeared on Lynx's face he then put both feet onto the water. He began slowly walking still abit nervous about it. He then looked up at Vincent and smiled

Lynx then began jogging towards the boy, he then jumped and performed a front flip in mid air, making a solid landing but still standing on top of the water, he reached Vincent and nodded his head in approval " Pretty sick spell thats for sure" he commented

Vincent raised an eyebrow as Lynx did a front flip game on

He spread his legs a tad further apart and said "Good to see a fellow athlete" he pulled his weight back and jumped, his hands landing firmly on the water he continued to do three back flips and a cartwheel, before landing comfortably on the water, it wasn't hard and it wasn't soft.

He smiled "This is going to be fun" he watched how Lynx reacted would he join in? Would he finally have a sparring partner? Or would he think of him as a show off Firstie? he didn't care at least someone was with him... He was sick of being alone.

A smirk appeared on Lynx's face as he watched Vincent, he gave him a nodd then turn his back to the boy and took a few steps. Lynx then spun around quickly fixing his eyes on Vincent

He then ran towards the boy with great speed getting faster and faster until he was only inches away from the boys face he then executed a swift side step, and position himself behind Vincent wrapping his left arm around his neck in a loose head lock, pulling the boy's body so it was pressing against his, therefore mildly restricting his mobility

Lynx then rested his head near Vincent's ear " So... are we going to be muggle dueling or wizarding dueling?" he asked waiting for the boy's reply

He exploded with laughter his throat pounding against Lynx's arm, he twisted broke the grip and pushing of his right leg, he did a full revolution while traveling away, his wand shot to his hand he landed firmly and in a battle position aimed at the man a smile from ear to ear.

"How's about a bit of both, flippendo" a bright light shot from his wand directly at Lynx, Vincent smiled ready to defend physically or magically.

Vincent easily escaped from Lynx's grasp, he wasnt too surprized, the boy suggested they do abit of both, before Lynx had a chance to think about this the boy shot a knock charm on him, Lynx stumbled back a few steps and grasped his wand

Lynx then gave a sharp flick of his wand "Levicorpus" a light green beam bolted towards the boy, if this spell landed Vincent would be tangling by his ankles for a few minutes. However Lynx didn't know how well this boy was at dueling so he began jogging towards the boy prepared to make a physical blow if the boy deflected the spell

Finally a worthy opponent, someone who could take a hit. He watched as the spell came for him prepared he cast "protego" saying out loud. The blue shield appeared in front of him as he waved his wand looking at Lynx he concentrated and timed his actions.

He reached for his arm connecting with his right hand he pulled his body over the top of his own his left hand pushing the thick abdomen of his dueling partner over his head. He pushed with great force and sent him into the air, he smiled again and jogged a few steps away watching his descent down to the waters surface. Preparing for a defensive or offensive move... he would see.

Lynx was surprized by the boys strength as he hit the surface of the water with a heavy thump. Lynx then got up and began running towards Vincent his eyes firmly fixed on his, Lynx tighted his grip on his wand, he then gave it sharp flick "Confundo" he murmed a beam of light shot out and hit the boy, making him slightly dizzy and confused

Lynx then charged towards him tackling him hard to the ground, he didn't mean for it to be so hard but felt sure Vincent could handle it. Lynx liad heavy on top of the boy due the force of the tackle, he quickly apparted appearing a few feet away from Vincent with a smirk on his face

He was impressed when Lynx landed, he wasn't quick enough to block his spell the world spun and the floor came up and smashed the wind out of him as Lynx tackled him.

Then he was gone, one of the many things he hadn't learnt yet... apparating.

Vincent used his body weight to flick himself onto his feet, he knelt as a bright idea flashed into his brain. His wand ready, he murmured "wingardium leviosa" a small wall of water steadily rose from the water as Vincent regained his steady breathing. He released the spell and yelled "Flippendo" the water sprayed into a mist in front of Lynx.

He aimed to the left and right of the man whispering "Stupefy" in quick succession creating large plumes of water, with a large amount of water everywhere and visibility at a minimum. Vincent locked onto the last position Lynx was at, he cast "olsolidate" the water around his feet became it's usual liquid as he silently dropped into the water, he surfaced quickly took a deep, deep breath of air and dived deeply into the black water completely concealed.

Why had he never thought of using these spells together? Lynx wouldn't have a clue where he was, he prepared his eyes focused on the shoes of Lynx above him.

Water surrounded Lynx he couldn't see a thing, he then raised his wand above his head and waved it around his head "Evanesco" he yelled the water which obstructed his vision disappeared leaving the crisp clear view of the lake

Lynx looked around, he couldn't see Vincent, he turned around in a circle scanning the lake trying to find the boy where the bloody hell did he go Lynx thought to himself " Vincent..." Lynx called out, he'd hoped nothing had happened to him as for he knew merpeople were present in these waters

Watching from the steps he was taking he had no idea where he was, he aimed his wand at him and kicked hard against the water. His eyes watch from underwater as his wand appeared above the surface "Expelliarmus" the bright light shot from his wand connecting with Lynx's hand it knocked his wand out, swiftly muttering "Aquamoveo"

Vincent's feet made contact with the surface of the water and he aimed at the unarmed Lynx, using a spell he had heard him cast "Levicorpus" the green bolt erupted from the end of his wand as he charged at full pelt toward him. Ready to grab Lynx's levitating body if the spell hit or to go in for a roundhouse kick if it missed or was blocked.

this was so much fun he looked serious and he was trying hard but he couldn't have been having more fun.

Lynx saw a wand emerge from the water, he stared at it in disbelief trying to work out who's it was. Then suddenly his wand was knock from his hand Vincent stood before him with his wand aimed at Lynx

Lynx gave a smirk and nodd he was impressed by the tactics of this boy, Vincent then cast the Levicorpus charm at Lynx without his wand Lynx was helpless to defend himself. There he was hanging by his ankles in mid air, he let out a laugh " Well... your pretty good I'll give you that" he said

Lynx then looked around for his wand and saw it near the waters edge sitting on the surface, he then spread out his hands preparing himself for when the spell broke so that he could break his fall, he knew it would only be another minute or two but he could already feel the blood rushing to his head

He let out a deep and proud laugh, the spell had hit. Lynx was defenseless and his plan could be executed. He launched over his dangling body his hands clenching strongly around his ankles, he landed heavily and using the momentum, dragged his body over his head and slammed him with a large clap against the surface of the water.

He back flipped twice and stood strongly his chest rising and falling in quick succession "Thank you... are you okay?" he hoped he hadn't gone to far. He stopped and made the time out sign with his hands, his breaths came in shorter gasps as he tried to steady his racing heart beat.

He lent on his thighs and took deep breaths through his nose and out of his mouth, he had over exerted himself, he did however keep his eyes on Lynx in case he decided to continue. "Sorry mate, I pushed it a bit too far"

Lynx saw Vincent running towards him his eyes widned, he saw him jump up and slam him into the ground. Lynx fell hard on the side of his face, his jaw felt stiff. Lynx then pulled himself off the water and began rubbing the side of his mouth til he could feel his jaw again. He saw Vincent leaning on his thighs, he asked if Lynx was alright

Lynx then walked over towards the bank and picked up his wand and paced it back into his pocket, he then gave a little smirk " Yeah... im fine, you certainly pack a punch thats for sure kid" Lynx said as he placed his hands on his hips

HIs breath came back to it's usual moderated rhythm, he smiled up at Lynx and said "Thanks, I may have gone a bit over board, sorry... I tend to show off" he continued to smile and walked over to Lynx he patted him on the shoulder and told him "Use the spell olsolidate to cancel the spell or else you'll walk on top of every puddle and every surface you touch" he grinned that would be embarrassing for him.

He stood with his hands on the back of his head, his large arms making him look larger "Tell me a bit about yourself, your quite the dueler"

Lynx nodded at Vicent telling him how to reverse the spell " olsolidate, right got it" Vincent then asked about Lynx, he gave a little smile " Well... when i was at Hogwarts I was sorted into Gryffindor and the only classes I really excelled at was Transfiguration and Arithmancy, I actually scored the highest levels in N.E.W.T.S for the entire school in those subjects. And my mother is a Professor at Hogwarts actually, and my father...."

Lync paused for a moment he felt a tear begin to run down his cheek, he quickly wiped it away and let out a sigh " Well my father was an Auror and he was killed by a Basilisk when busting illegal breeders" Lynx then sniffled and then gave a little smile " And as for me, well im recently applied to be the Improper Use of Magic Admin"

He listened intently and replied "Wow congratulations on the NEWTS, and transfiguration huh? My professor never teaches us anything... maybe you can be my tutor" he grinned and he walked over and patted Lynx on the back to comfort him "That's so horrible, he must have been a great man to raise such a brilliant dueler" he smiled and walked back onto the water.

He looked at Lynx his mind torn "Another round? We don't have to but just asking"
It occurred to him suddenly "Miller? Oh your Professor Miller's son... she's a brilliant teacher" he laughed at his own delay.

Vincent suggested another round of duelling, he was pretty beat from the last round and wasn't sure if he would be up to it " I think I might have to decline your offer, anyway I shouldn't be encouraging you to be performing underage magic, before you know it you'll have the Ministry onto you" Lynx said with a chuckle

A smirk appeared on his face when Vincent said what a great teacher his mother was " Well she ought to be with all the bloody time she spent studying defensive spells" Lynx shook his head, he could never understand why someone would continue on studying for so long, epscially when you just end up teaching a bunch of kids

He let out a sigh of relief, he probably couldn't have handled another round anyway, he laughed at the fact of underage magic. He smiled at his comment about Professor Miller and he moved to the shore plonking himself on the dirt, he looked into the sky and stayed silent, he was basking in the moment and he couldn't think of anything to talk about, he felt slightly bad.

Rose hummed as she walked towards the lake a basket on her arm. It had been a long time since she had visited. She sighed as she closed her eyes remembering the times her family used to have picnics here.No more picnics for them she thought sadly as she recalled their deaths. She shook her head sadly and started walking along humming the old Russian lullaby her momma taught her before she died.

Rose tilted her head as she neared a figure. Wait not one but two figures. One on the shore and... Wait is that guy on the water she thought in disbelief. Rose being the curious type slowly walked towards them.

He heard movement. His eyes tore from the sky and swiftly scanned the tree line his eyes landed on a girl, his powers of deduction working in there usually well oiled way. Second year, not Hogwarts... Durmstrang, she was having a sad thought he spun onto his feet dusted himself and bounded toward the girl, he stopped in front of her saying "a pleasure to meet you, Vincent Furtell, First Year Ravenclaw" he grabbed her free hand a placed a kiss on the top of it he hooked his arm through hers and he asked "May I escort you to the waters edge to meet my friend?" He was invigorated from the previous duel and was now channeling that into kindness.
