Out and about (Open)

Kallie sighed as she took a seat at one of the tables and sip at her glass of tea. She supposed she could have gotten just as good a one at home, and there was a part of her, a large part of her that wanted to do that more than anything else.

But there was a practical part that said she should go out and socialize. See the people she was in charge of. Or at least some of them. THe City of Azorat was open to any wizard, so it was quite possible that at least half the people in this shop has nothing to do Russia at all.

Still, out of all the options she had to admit that the quaint little shop suited her best. It was quiet and simple, a little to cluttered with exessive decorations for her own taste, but still... acceptable.

Aurelie shook out her hair as she went into the tea shop. Compared to the frigid cold outside, the warm air in the shop was quite frankly heaven.

There was only one other person in the shop, someone she recognized as the minister. A quick glance and Aurelie deduced (pitifully) that the minister had not gone to Hogwarts, fitted the tea shop (in a way. Aurelie couldn't figure out how), and had many, many things on her mind.

"Sugar cookie and a cup of tea please," she told Madam Rose warily. The last time she'd been in this shop, she'd destroyed many, many tea cups by accident.

Thankfully, Madam Rose didn't seem to remember Aurelie. "Right, dear," she said, passing over a sugar cookie and a cup of tea. "Five knuts and a sickle."

Aurelie slid over two sickles. "Keep the change," she said, still glancing at the Minister.

(OOC: Hello! Uhm. Aurelie is really observant IG, so, yeah. Just saying! Please be prepared for some scrutiny.)

Iris entered the shop, feeling in the mood for some peace and quiet. Normally, she'd be at the Three Broomsticks, laughing with the crowd and drinking but she was just kinda tired today. She ordered a glass of mint tea and looked around to see if there was anyone she recognized. She spotted Aurelie and walked over to her.

"Hey Bones," she greeted her and grinned. "Who are you staring at?" She followed her friend's gaze and saw the Minister. "Well, that was certainly unexpected." She muttered.

She went to the Minister's table and asked with a slight grin, "Hey, mind if I join you?"

((OOC: Sorryyy that Iris doesn't talk all fancy- like with the Minister; that's just her way of talking. xP))

Kallie barely looked up as she heard people enter the store. She didn't feel like wasting her time with such triffles. If they were important they would come to her.

Which they did, though she would admit to be a tad bit surprised when she looked up to find that it was in fact a child that addressed her.

Still there were empty seats about her and she had no real reason to say otherwise, so she could not be rude.

"Feel free to sit if that is what you wish," she said giving a polite smile and a stiff wave at the seat in question.

"Hey Flower," Aurelie greeted Iris, and then groaned when her friend went blatantly to the Minister's table. "Good gods, Merlin, Iris."

Coughing, she went over to the mInister's table. Iris, Aurelie noticed, was drinking mint tea. So her friend was tired.

"Sorry, can I sit here too?" she asked.

"Thanks!" Iris replied, still grinning. She took a seat and smiled when Bones also came over to the table. "So Minister, how are you? Must be unexpected that two students would come over and talk to you huh?" She asked and laughed light. "But we are very friendly, I assure you. Right Bones?" She asked her friend, a not so innocent smile on her face.

Aurelie shot Iris an evil glare. "Yes, of course," she said lightly.

The minister's half-drunk glass of tea made Aurie think that the Minister wasn't here for the tea. Aurelie looked down at her own tea.

"Friendly, yes," she said absentmindedly. "And my name is Aurelie, Minister."

Ignoring her friend's evil glare, Iris turned back to the Minister with a triumphant smile. "See, we are friendly. Oh, I'm Iris by the way." She introduced herself with a grin. She knew she should probably not be so chatty with the Minister but she had no idea how else to communicate. This was as respectful and friendly as she could be.

Aurelie gave up. "So, Minister, why're you out here in this tea shop?" she asked, demurely lowering her eyes.

Kallie didn't even bother feeling surprised when the second student showed up.

She listened to them banter, feeling a soft flicker of amusement in her stomach. It must be nice to have friends and be young. Kallie had never been able to do either of those things as a child. She just didn't have the social skills.

Of course, it was her personality that allowed her to have such a high job at such a young age, but there was still a part of her that wished she had been more of a normal child, and would be okay with a normal job in return.

"Hello Aurelie and Iris, please I am off duty for the moment, feel free to call me Kallie," she gave a little formal smile. It was obvious that Aurelie felt that Iris should be more formal with Kallie, and althought Kallie herself would have behaved that way she admired the girl for her easy manor. She wasn't being disrespectful in anyways.

This was a teashop after all, not the Minstry.

"I just felt the need to be away from work for a while, and desired a cup of tea. What brings you children here?"

The Minister -- Sorry, Kallie, looked amused, which relieved Aurie. Aurie hadn't been sure whether the Minister was one of those people who didn't really care about politeness or one of those people who would have you sent to Azkaban for being rude.

"I was cold," said Aurie. "And tea is warm. Therefore, I wanted tea." She swirled around the remains of her tea and grinned.

"Kallie it is! Much easier to call that than 'Minister' all the time." Iris grinned. "Oh, I'll bet staying at the Ministry all the time does get boring. No offence, but for someone like me, that sounds like a lot of work." She admitted, almost looking sheepish.

"Normally, I'd be at the Three Broomsticks but I was feeling kinda tired today. So I thought a cup of tea would do me good." She smiled. "And I happened to run into my friend here." She shot Bones a sly grin.

"So Kallie, what's it like being the Minister?" She asked, suddenly feeling curious.

Kallie smiled slightly at them.

"Oh its much like any job I suppose," she said after a pause to think about it. "I wouldn't say its all as glamerous as it sounds. There is always some probably to solve, and someone blaming you for something you could never control. "

She shrugged and took a sip of tea, "You are the face of your ministry. You don't have time to slip up on anything. It is not a job to be taken lightly, or by just anyone."

Aurelie made a wry face as Flower shot her a sly grin and concentrated on what the Minister was saying. "And that is why I will never become Minister," she said jokingly. "I'd rather become a professional doodler."

Despite her light comment, she felt sorry for Kallie. it couldn't be easy.

Kallie gave her a small smile at her attempt at a joke, "That would certainly be easier."

"Though, Minister also has its rewards."

"As in?" Aurelie asked, folding her arms and carefully making her face into a mask of curiosity. Of course, she was curious, but not so free that she would just look raw and curious all at once. Instead, a polished mask of curiosity.

(OOC: I'm sick and I have a headache. If I don't make much sense, I blame my head.)

Iris felt a touch of sympathy for the woman. She was one of those people who took work very lightly so she could only imagine the pressure Kallie had to go through. "Well, now I don't feel so bad that I want to be a professional Quidditch player." She told with a grin.

"Oh, what kind of rewards?" Iris asked, a sort of excited smile on her face.

"Don't be," Kallie stated, "Any ambition is a good one. As long as you stick with it and follow through."

Truthfully she did find sports a frivilous sort of activity but did not wish to judge these children, and she did understand that other people felt differently about them.

Kallie thought about it for a long moment. Trying to find an answer that would actually make sense to other people.

"Well... everyone is looking up to you to make a decision. It is true that it is stressful and irksome when something unplanned goes wrong and you are blammed, but when you actually manage a situation... create order out of chaos," she leaned into her chair and gave a little whistful sigh, "It is quite rewarding to know you've made a difference."

"That actually sounds like a worthy reward," Iris admitted. "And that's something because I rarely feel work has any good sorts of reward." She told and laughed lightly. "But with the way I'm used to living, I don't think I can ever see myself doing something that important because I've seen people who have so much more potential." She sighed.

Wanting to get rid of her sad side, Iris grinned once again. "So I suppose being Minister keeps takes time away from dating, huh?" She asked with a mischievious smile. "Sorry if I offended, but it's one of the few topics I can very much keep up with."

"I find you never truely know how much potential one has until they try something," Kallie mused with a small smile.

Kallie felt some embarrasment at such a question, but being a master of her emotions, and ruled by her logical mind, she hardly showed anything but a faint surprise to the two girls.

"Yes I guess it does. I never had much of a dating life." Of course, Kallie thought, it was more of the afor meantioned reason of emotion that made things that way, rather than her job, though she supposed it did not help.

Aurelie groaned and laughed at Iris. Typical Flower. Merlin, Iris was a cheerful, straightforward person.

Aurelie drank the cold remains of her tea and tilted her head. "Really? Not much of a dating life?"

Kallie nodded solemnly, "Not much as in none at all."

"Do you girls have one? I do remember schoolgirls being very into the boys," she didn't mean to sound condesending if it did. She had been merely speaking what she knew in the normal way she spoke.

Of course, she hadn't had one even when she was in school. Boys and men always seemed to stay away from her.

"Oh, me?" Aurelie blushed. "I used to, but then he moved away and well, I haven't really found anyone else." She shrugged slightly. "Ah, well, it's only Hogwarts. I think that I'd have a much better relationship after it."

"I think it's because you haven't found the right guy yet," Iris replied to Kallie with a grin. "After all, best things take the longest to find, yes?"

"Yeah, I do. But we haven't been going out that long. So far so good though." She smiled. "It's okay Bones, I can help you look for a guy." She winked at her friend and smiled slyly.

Aurelie ducked her head and blushed. "Flower!" she said, slightly mortified. "Not everyone has to have a boyfriend!"
