Flying Lesson 1, 4th years

Crystal got down to the field and was excited to see that she was on time and was the first one there. She really loved the first day of lessons. She was hopping to make the Quidditch team this year. She set down her stuff and started looking around at all the stuff that was set up.

Paloma walked down to the Flying Field, excited. She just loved flying. Like running, dancing and swimming, it made her feel free.

She noticed another girl there and smiled slightly, "Hello."

Thomas walked onto the field. He made a bet with Alex that he lost so now he had to join this lesson. Thomas walked closer to see Crystal and another girl. Thomas walked over and kiss Crystal's cheek. "Hey Chrys, hi my name is Thomas Gilbert" Thomas told the blonde headed girl.

Caleb ran onto the quidditch pitch and saw one of his best friends, his girlfriend, and another girl. Caleb ran over. "Hello" Caleb said to them. Caleb looked at the blonde. "Hi, I'm Caleb List and by the look that I've never seen you before, you must go to Drumstrang or you're new" Caleb said to the girl.

Angel went to flying, not caring if she was late. She looked around at all the others, not really acknowledgeing them much. She put up her hand in a small wave.

Paloma smiled shyly at the two boys, feeling a bit out of place, as they all seemed to know each other. "Hi," she greeted them, "Nice to meet you both. Paloma Poots, Durmstrang exchange student, yes."

She almost jumped in relief when she saw a familiar face. "Angel!" she said, "Hey. How are you?"

"Hey, Paloma," Angel said. "I'm fine, you?" She was tapping her foot, waiting for the lesson to start. Where was the professor, anyway?

Paloma raised an eyebrow, "Honest? You're not just saying that because it's what everyone seems to want to hear?"

"I'm fine, too," she said, looking around, "Do you know who the professor is?"

Angel shrugged.

"This year I got no idea," she said. "Do you like flying?" She tapped her foot harder.

Paloma nodded, "I love it, it makes me feel so alive and free."

"What about you?" she asked, curiously, "I'd always imagined you as a more. . . ground sort of person."

Ryan entered the field with his broom and a bag full of school brooms for those who didn't have their own, he smiled at the group of students standing there

"Hey guys im Professor Welsh, you new Flying Professor hope you guys enjoyed your summer holidays. Well lets get straight into it shall we so lets mount your brooms"

Ryan reached into the bag and pulled out three plastic sticks which glowed yellow,blue,green he then mounted his broom and flew up about 12 feet into the air almost as high as the goal posts and hovered there waiting for his students to meet him up there

Paloma listened to Professor Welsh as he asked them to mount their broom. She turned and got her broom from the grass, a present from her sister for her 14th birthday.

She mounted her broom and flew up, enjoying every second of being in the air. Oh, how she'd missed this. She hovered near the goal posts and waited for further instructions.

Crystal smiled when Tom came down. "I didn't know you were taking flying she said to him. The she smiled at Caleb came down. "Hello." she said nicely. When the professor came she walked to her broom and mounted t like she was told to do and flew up to meet the Professor.

"I can see why," Angel replied. "I like flying better than most classes."

She nodded at the professors instructions, and mounted her broom. She kicked off, and zoomed upward towards the goal posts. Angel then waited for the professor to continue.

Once they were all there Ryan smiled at them all "Alright so today we are going to be retrieving these sticks as they fall, they have be jinxed to fall alot slower than normal giving you time to catch them. So you will have to perform a dive by leaning downard on your broom and then once you have the stick lean back to straighten up but becarefully you don't lean back to much that you stop"

Ryan tossed a few of the sticks around in his hand and gazed around at his students " So... who's feeling eager?"
