Ric dropped a book onto his desk to gain their attention. "Save the casual chat for your own time. Now take your seats." He ordered moving to the tank in front of his desk that was covered with a sheet. Once they were all seated he removed the sheet to reveal a peachy coloured horned demon with long fingers submerged in water.

"Who can tell me what creature this is?" He asked.

Casey settled back into her seat as the Professor finally arrived. She studied the demon closely, recognizing it from a book she'd read recently. She raised her hand. "It's a Grindylow sir. They drag unwary swimmers under the water and drown them. While their grip is very strong, their fingers are also very easy to break. They are also suceptible to haet, so fire or boiling water is effective against them."

Tiana winced as she walked in, slightly scared. She'd fallen asleep in the library doing homework, and she took a deep breath.
"Sorry I'm late, Professor. Time just got away from me," she said quietly, edging along a wall to take a seat at the back of the room. She looked at the desk at the front of the room and smiled slightly, proud that she knew what it was. When Casey answered, her thoughts were confirmed. After having an encounter with one of the creatures, she knew what one looked like alright.

Aragorn cleared his throat as he composed himself, observing the Grindylow, as Casey had called it, carefully. He'd never seen one before. He barely noticed when Tiana arrived, having never met her before. They were in the same house, but that didn't stop him from not knowing the girl.

He opened up his book to the page about Grindylows, curious now about what they were like.

He nodded. "Correct Miss Donohoe. Grindylows aren't usually a threat but they have been known to eat humans so it's best to be prepared. Especially if you are planning on taking a dip in the Black Lake. Which i strongly advise you against unless you wish to die a painful die." He said turning to look at his watch as the late comer came in. He was late himself but he was headmaster, he had other matters to attend to they had no excuse.

"It's fine take a seat, just don't let it happen again. I won't be so forgiving next time." He walked over to the tank and placed a hand onto the glass. "His fingers and teeth are his main offensive weapons. Once he has you in his grip it is very had to get out of, especially if you are taken by more than one which is more than like since they travel in packs."

"Who can name me a spell which would be useful if you found yourself surrounded by these creatures?"

Aragorn raised his hand curiously, his eyes large as he said in a confident voice, "Relashio." He didn't even know if that was right, he'd just remembered reading it somewhere. The book had been on Harry Potter, he'd read it back when he was just a lad living up in the mountains with his father. He hoped that was correct.
